A lot of the dresses I've seen posted here are pretty modest and traditional. What style of dress do you plan to wear? And have you ever been to a wedding where the bride was wearing a "sexy" dress? If so, what was the reaction?

I think that it should be one or the other, deep v or low back. Higher slit I think could only work with the deep v. And in my opinion I love the gaps in the lace but I'd choose one where it's only limited, and I'd only do the lace gap with the low back. I wouldn't do lace gaps anywhere lower than my upper torso or lower back though
Renae being a wife doesn't prevent you from wearing a certain type of dress on your wedding day. And presumptive to say that someone who chooses a dress like this isn't "wife" enough.

"Who is a bride? What does she represent?"
WHAT does she represent?! She is a person, not a thing. She represents nothing and no one, but herself. If she wants to bare a little (or a lot) of skin on her wedding day, then so be it. It does not reflect on her husband or their marriage or even what goes on in their bedroom. It is merely what she wants to wear to feel beautiful on one of the happiest days of her life.
Chivy it's so exciting and meaningful that you get to make your own dress!!! I'm excited for you and wish I had skills to do the same. I'm sure whatever style you choose will be perfect because you get to decide what works and what doesn't for your body and style!! Congratulations!
I agree 1000% with Olivia. It's honestly personal preference like whether a bride wants green or blue to be a color in her wedding. It doesn't matter.
I will say that anyone that bashes dresses because of some weird monogamous view on who gets to decide what's appropriate for the BRIDE to wear is getting mega side eye from me.
@Kate I provided plenty examples of what I liked. You know exactly why your post was unnecessary let's not play games here. I'm glad you thought it was funny. I didn't. Whatever. Moving on.

I think it depends on the bride's figure and personality. Figure wise ... This is probably going to get some flack, but let's be real: people with less curves can wear less clothes without looking slutty whereas if you have DDs, it's going to look a lot more sexual if you wear something low-cut. Sad but true. I fall on the later side so I tend to cover up a bit more than say, my sister, who has As. I also think it's important that it matches your personality. If you're a sexy, show it off type of girl, then a sexy dress would be a great match for you. If you tend to be conservative and shy, it might not feel authentic or comfortable. Ultimately, there's no right or wrong. I've seen brides in very sexy see-through dresses and they've looked absolutely stunning. I've also seen brides who fall on the conservative side, like myself, and they've looked great in their own way. There's no right or wrong.

I think personality plays a big role. I'm just not a sexy person by any means so it would look super silly on me. But I have ZERO issue with a woman going sexy on her wedding day.
" If you choose to behave like a rat fine go ahead. But I have a right to comment to. I just choose not to behave like a rat. "
Gymmie. I'm getting you this as a bumper sticker.
Also, Renae. Modesty is great. No one's bashing modesty. Hell, I wore probably the most modest dress ON this site at my wedding. But, you equate modesty with "respect for husband" and "wife material" and that's really disgusting.
