Sewn in cups - will it be enough?

Shannon, on February 11, 2017 at 2:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 35

Let's talk boobs...

So I'm a 34B at best (TMI), and while I love my sweetheart neckline it does just about nothing for the girls. I had a strapless bra on to try on my dress when it came in, but I had to remove it because the dress wouldn't close with it on (ugh)

My attendant suggested having sewn in cups added at my fitting, would something like sewn push up double cups do the trick? (I've attached a close up picture of my dress without a bra or any cups added yet)

Who here has had sewn in cups and what's your verdict?

(I'd also like to avoid a bra if possible because it was so much more comfortable without it)

I am having pushup cups sewn into my dress and it has a sweetheart neckline as well. We have very similarly sized boobs and although I only did a mock-up of the inserts at my last fitting, it looked like I would get some decent lift out of the inserts. If I get a decent lift (for a 32 B lol) or not, I know I do not want to wear a bra with my dress. Definitely recommend the inserts hands down for the comfy factor alone.

Most friends of mine have had cups sewn in and they said they were great. I have a very different neckline/dress than yours but I was concerned about the same thing. I'm a 32D and with a low back dress a strapless bra just isn't an option. They gave me the option to have cups sewn in or nothing at all. I said "give me all the lift!" They said it should help a lot once they're sewn in. I don't go back for my second fitting until April 2nd though so I'm nervous!

I'm using a nubra from Nordstrom (sticky bra). I feel like it's very similar to having cups sewn in. My dress is very old and just one layer of material, so I felt it best to stick the cups to me and not the dress. Haven't tried the two together yet!

I'm doing sewn in cups. I'm also a 34B and have a sweetheart neckline. When I tried on the dresses, I didn't wear a bra and felt just fine in them without the sewn in cups. I would recommend them so you don't have to worry about wearing one

Same here on the 34B, sweetheart neckline and sewn in cups. The dress looked great from the side, but from the front it "fell a little flat." If you don't go with too much padding, then everything will still look natural.

It will be enough. I have around the same size, and they definitely lifted them:-)

I'm having the same nerves about the gals. My dress has a v in the front and a low back so I'm scared I won't have any boobage. Like normal.

I'm also a B cup and I had a strapless, sweetheart neck line. I had push up cups sewn in but I still needed a little more "oomph" so I also wore sticky cups and that did the trick for me.

Tina, I'm not quite that "blessed," but not far behind. I wish mine were smaller too!

I'm a 42G and all I want is to go braless. My seamstress really didn't recommend it. But I order my dress next month and I'm going to take my bra off when I go to put it on and see how I feel.

I had cups sewn into my dress and they made a huge difference! I didn't think that they could do as much as they did but they are fantastic
