Sew In on THIN hair or Clip Ins?

wifeytobejuly17, on April 4, 2017 at 12:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 35

Anyone have experience getting a sew-in with THIN fine hair?! I met with a stylist and she said it was totally do-able. I have been reading reviews and it has really been scaring me! Has anyone had this done versus clip ins? I do have Bellami Clip Ins but they're much too long and I find them hard to hide the tracks with my thin hair. EEk. idk if I am just freaking myself out but since my wedding is states away from where I'm getting my hair done two weeks before my wedding, I am worried Smiley sad

EDIT: If you got clip ins where did you purchase them from? And any photos posted would be awesome ! thank ya'll!

They can add braiding hair to your thin hair to make the foundation stronger. Make sure they know what they are doing.

I would say stick with your clip ins. I have fine hair and not a lot of it and I conceal mine just fine. I would say for the best results to do the following.

    A) Do not go higher than your eyebrow line. You need all of your top hair to cover the extensions on the bottom. Start with a small amount of hair at the base of your neck and clip a weft with 3 clips there. Then add another small amount of hair and clip in another weft I do a 4 clip weft here. Add another small section of hair and clip another 4 clip weft. Then add the hair that is at your eyebrow line and clip 2 clip wefts on the sides and a 1 clip weft in the back and let the rest of your hair down and style like you normally would.

    B) Close clipping when you are clipping in the above wefts clip them right above where you clipped the last weft.

    C) Before you clip in your wefts, put your hair in a ponytail and measure the circumference with your fingers. Then take out your wefts and try to get close to the same amount of hair you naturally have. Most extension packs will give you more hair than you actually need to use at one time. if you match the amount of hair you naturally have it will look more natual and it will help you conceal all the tracks.

    Hope this helps!

Get a sew in! BUT make sure they know what they're doing! I would never ever ever attempt clips on an important day like your wedding. A sew in can be so versatile and more importantly it can last awhile and be treated like natural hair.

They can add braiding hair to make the foundiation stronger and leave a little more of your hair unbraided to ensure you have enough to cover it up.

I do use clip ins, and yes I have a photo. Hang on,

The first photo is my hair without extensions. My hair is also darker here but in the second photo it is a lighter color.

The second photo is with them in.

Yes you're probably just freaking out. If you get a sew in you can curl, wet and even color it to your liking. It's amazing. Plus, the coverage is better than clips! Go on Pinterest, google or even click a hashtag on Instagram. You won't be disappointed!!

@cann do you have a photo of yourself using them ? I have heard good things but I keep reading "not suitable for thin hair" but the lady I met with said "ok we can make it work" and showed me the 18" hair extensions and had me pull her hair. I had one lady tell me microbeading would not work on my hair cos my hair wouldn't cover it and she said it just wouldn't work (also she said she charged $800 for them- yikes)

@Wifey My clip ins are 18 in. no they are not cut or layered it is all about blending them in with the natural hair.

I will say that some of the pros of clip ins outweigh the cons of having sew ins for me personally.

I like that they aren't permanent and I can take them out if I don't want them in.

They are easier and cheaper to upkeep if you get a quality product.

    They are really versatile.

I am not against clip ins! I wear those too lol! They have some pros and a few cons but I prefer a sew in! Especially for a day like your wedding!
