Setting Date around your Cycle

Krista, on September 3, 2011 at 4:26 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

Just curious if anyone else is taking into consideration their menstrual cycle when setting a date for their wedding. I have one of those phone apps that tracks it for me and shows me the next 12 cycles. Looks like i might overlap my cycle with my honeymoon a little. Hope it doesn't cause new husband frustration. lol.

It's pretty easy to move your cycle by manipulating your pill schedule. Talk to your gyno about how you can do this.

Damn straight I had that in mind! Even better, I got to actually change by birth control (not wedding related, just coincidence) so I adjusted it to guarantee no troubles during our wedding or honeymoon.

I'm skipping my cycle next month. Basically you just skip the last week of pills and start a new pack during that time. Otherwise, I'd be in trouble. lol! Good Luck!

I did...and when I told the lady at our venue that she looked at me wierd... the last thing I want to be on my wedding day is bloated, b*tchy, and having to deal with a mess in the bathroom... lol

Well i dont take birth control. Never been a fan of messing with my hormones and the natural flow of my body. I almost never get cramps and my cycles are always pretty short and light. I would hate to mess that up and make it worse by taking pills. Plus i can't swallow pills. I know i suck. : ) I will just hope i remain regular and try to plan around it best i can. If not well...No sex for the Mr. right away ; )

Mine is so off all the time....it wouldn't be worth it to even consider it in my situation.

This is pretty common actually for the women who are regular and know when to expect it.

I couldnt help grinning.. I wouldnt be able to figure out when to plan the wedding around.. i am a Surrogate mother and Ill be giving birth about 5 months prior to the wedding.. I dont care about my cycle.. I could just take BCpills though the wedding and honeymoon.. If you stay on the active pills you can adjust your cycle around the wedding! just dont stop taking them till after you get home..

My FH and I were talking about this, lol. Our wedding is still a bit away. I'm not sure right now what I'm going to do. I guess I'll see when the date is more closer.

Angel- Such a wonderful thing you are doing. Your are an amazing person for giving so unselfishly.

I wish I could do this, but mine is terribly irregular and awful. Comes up on me when I least expect it Smiley sad, and doesn't happen every month. I hate not being normal.

Congrats Sharon! how far along are you?

well I didn't have to worry about that since I dont get a period anymore!!! LOL, I haven't had a cycle in 5 years {hysterectomy} but If I did still get one, I would've surely planned the date around that.

I tried to plan mine around my period but unfortunately thed venue only had one open date this year which was 1 week prior to my cycle starting, which meant that I would start mine on my honeymoon as well. I skipped my sugar pills to bump my period the week before. So I will have my period the week of my wedding but should be finished by the day of....so long as I stay regular like I am normally.
