Just Said Yes September 2020

Set our date for six months from now

Joey, on March 26, 2020 at 8:48 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
We decided to go ahead and take a chance and only giving ourselves six months to plan our wedding. Our date is our seven year anniversary, and it just seemed so right. But now that we’re actually in the throes of it, I am scared that I put too much pressure on myself. We’re planning something fairly small 80 to 100 people and hosting it at his parents farm, so at least we’ve got a free venue going for us. But am I setting myself up for success or disappointment?

I'd definitely start looking for your vendors like now. With the virus going around, most people with a March-June wedding seem to be pushing it to the fall. I've seen September a ton for rescheduling purposes. Make sure that you can find a photographer, DJ, florist, etc.

I think you should be ok if you can get all of your vendors lined up. Good luck.

Make A Checklist To Help You Get Started. Get The Big Important Aspects Out Of The Way Before Anything Else. Budget, Caterer, DJ/Band/ Cake, Dress, Etc. I Definitely Recommend Getting A Dress Asap In Case It Needs To Be Ordered. They Take Some Months To Come In But You Might Be Able To Get A Rushed Order Or Just Get A Dress Off The Rack. Also Should Send Save The Dates Asap If You Have Guests That Will Be Traveling. Other Then That Definitely Use A Checklist To Help Keep Track So You Wont Stress! Goodluck! Smiley heart

I think 6 months is fine, our friends planned a beautiful wedding in 7 months. They found an all inclusive venue and didn’t have a bridal party. Sometimes I wish we didn’t plan so far out but we are finally under 200 days! Good luck!

I think six months is doable for sure especially if you find a venue that is more all inclusive but the issue is being able to find a venue at the moment due to all the closures

You can definitely knock it out. If it were me, I would be prepared for my first and even second vendor choices being booked up with all these wedding reschedulings happening. If that's not a concern for you then I think you will be just fine. Use a created checklist, and get rid of the stuff that you don't need so you don't even have to see it. Take it one day at a time and before you know it you'll be walking down the aisle! Happy planning!
