September Brides - Planning ahead or Postponing?

I'm so sorry you are going through this! While this is definitely an uncertain time, it seems like plenty of September couples are waiting to make postponement decisions. Of course, everyone's situation is different, so it never hurts to be proactive about plan B!

If the financial strain of this pandemic prevents some of your guests from attending, will you be OK with their absence? Will waiting until 2021 guarantee their presence? You can't control anyone's circumstances, of course, so maybe you could take an informal poll of the family and friends that you most want to see at your wedding. Their responses may help you decide your next step. In the end, you should make the decision that feels right for you.

Thank you! It has been confusing and stressful time for sure.Our wedding is already smaller by average American standards, about 72 people. Unfortunately, some family are coming from another country and now won’t be able to come. I don’t think they will be able to come at a later date. So even if we did move the wedding people who can’t come now won’t be able to come anyway.I think I might ask guests closer to June how they are doing and feeling about traveling to the wedding.

Hi Anna. I postponed my June 27th wedding to September 5th but now that the hot-spots are areas some of my FH guests are coming from and having GA on that list as well, I just postponed to next year. I'm thankful my vendors cooperated with me. My original plans were all indoor oriented. Now that it is recommended not to be indoors for prolonged periods of time without proper ventilation and other safety measures, postponing should give us the time to prepare for an outdoor wedding rather than having anxiety about constantly making last minute changes.

So sorry you had to postpone twice! But I'm glad your vendors were flexible and you were able to reschedule!

Its such an unpredictable time right now, it has been killing me trying to figure out what to do next.
Since we don't live in Savannah postponing for us is not the best option. Since we don't know where we will be moving to next year for work, and how much money it will cost for us to move :/. Plus we had a two year engagement to save up for the wedding (paying for it 100% ourselves, no help from family or friends). At this point we are fatigued with planning and just want to get married.
Our original plan was to have a ceremony and reception outside in a courtyard of our venue. But we are still anxious of putting our guests at risk since they will be traveling.
Worst comes to worst we will still travel to Savannah and get married, just the two of us (our accommodations are non refundable so might as well use them)
