September Brides (anybody from Ohio?)....

Mariah, on July 17, 2020 at 8:45 AM Posted in Ohio Planning 0 6

We are expecting about 150 guests at our September 19, 2020 wedding. For those who have sent invites out (FROM ANYWHERE), how many RSVP's are you receiving back? Is it less than what you expected? We sent out about 215.

I have hope. I truly feel that if you are safe, wash hands, keep your distance, wear a mask, take necessary precautions, and just BE SMART, we will all be okay. I've been planning this dang thing for almost 2 whole years. I am so ready!

Hey....one day, when we all have kids or grandchildren, we may be able to say how we were all COVID brides and it may come as a surprise/awe to them! Keep your heads held high and let's all hope and pray our days are just as special as we all deserve.

Ohio bride here! (And October, not September.)

We haven't sent out invites yet, but I'm planning on getting those out at the beginning of August. I'll have one batch of invites going to 30-40 people, and then "uninvites"/smaller wedding FYI notices going out to the rest of our guest list (which was originally 130) at the same time.

It'll be interesting to see what sort of response we get!

Date twins! I'm in TN though. We invited 165 people and have had 71 yes responses and 7 people have declined. So we're still waiting to hear back from half. My sister said most responses from her guests didn't come in until right before the deadline. A lot of people are probably waiting until closer to the deadline to see what travel is going to look like (at least for me because a lot of our guests are from out of town). Good luck

Hi Mariah! I think a lot of this will depend upon how many of your guests are local (and how many would need to travel), and how many guests you have who are high-risk.

Here are a few discussions I've seen recently about wedding size and RSVP rates you should definitely check out as well:

Hi! Mine is 10:24...I’m trying to hold off until mid August to send because I’m afraid of a shutdown...I went from 150 to 115, I think 15-20 will decline but I don’t know.

    Hi Eri!

Maddie here, September 12th Bride from Ohio! I sent out my invites about 3 days before the Mandatory Mask order, and I am basically regretting sending Invites at all. I am so interested in your "Uninvites" and how they work. Please do tell more as I may have to resort to "Uninvites" or an all out "Change Our Date" notice.

Thank you in advance and my very best wishes to all Couples out there going through this CRAZY time. xo, Maddie

I definitely do not regret sending my invites out. I sent them out 6 days ago, last Friday (today is Thursday) and no matter what, that day is OUR day. If guests have to wear masks, fine. It's okay with me. The ones who matter will be there. I definitely will not change my date nor cancel. My venue is a large area with a huge outdoor area as well. Therefore, I believe guests will be comfortable wherever they are. That's our day. I'm not changing it. FYI - I have 40 RSVPs so far. Today was the first day I received some back in the mail. I have confidence. I just want to marry my best friend.
