September 2021

Sarah, on June 30, 2020 at 1:46 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6

Am I crazy trying to plan a wedding for next September not knowing where this pandemic will lead, mixed with increasingly heated tensions between political parties? Will we have another year of quarantine? Will we be in the middle of a civil war? Will any of my potential vendors be able to survive this crazy storm? Am I being overly worried? Someone help talk me off the edge of this cliff!

Absolutely not. i think you have every right to plan for a wedding for next year.

there is no telling where it will go, you're right but that's kind of why it also doesn't make sense to halt your entire life around it even for next year. who knows when a vaccine will come out or when covid will truly be gone - but i highly doubt it would entirely disappear.

so i think you planning for a sept 2021 wedding is fine

Its not crazy.. I am planning mine for next August. I think its a bit harder then planning under normal circumstances, but we have decided to have a few sets of plans ready for what we are going to do depending on how many people we are going to be able to have, ranging from the 150 people we want down to say about less than 50. And the only thing that really changes in my different plans are the amounts of things like food, centerpieces, favors etc. Venue and all that is nailed down for me no matter what the final number ends up being. I think planning it now is great as long as you keep it in the back of your mind that you may have to be willing to be flexible on some of your plans. I freak out a little sometimes, because I hate the uncertainty, but I try to remind myself to just enjoy the process.

Deep breaths!! I know it feels like the world is imploding right now, but September 2021 is over a year away! That's plenty of time for things to change. Here's a great conversation you should join for 2021 weddings: 2021 Brides: how far are you in wedding planning?

Also there are still beautiful and incredible happenings right now, even if they're on a smaller scale! Smiley heart

I think it's okay to plan but I personally wouldn't put down a lot of money when eeverything is an unknown. COVID has taught me to prepare for the worst and pray for the best and not to put so much money and time into a one day celebration.
