September 12th!

aew, on August 12, 2015 at 11:01 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22

Only one month..30 days to go. I know I should be excited, but instead I'm in complete stress and panic mode. I should've picked a different date, 5 months of planning just isn't enough. I'm still deciding on centerpieces, I think that's been the hardest thing for me to do. We still have some small diy's to get done, waiting on RSVP's, pick our ceremony and reception music, finalize flower order, and buy lots of stuff. Add to that, we are having my ring custom made, started it in June, and it doesn't look like it's going to be done in time. Oh did I mention they still have my engagement ring! I hope the rest of my date twins are doing well.

Aw aew! You're in the home stretch. I'm sure other wiser women will have better practical advice, but I just wanted to pop on to say I'm thinking of you and it IS going to come together. Smiley smile Big hugs and best wishes! You're almost there!

    SO MANY THINGS...

    - have to revise rentals / florist contract / catering contract once I have a final number

    - have to spray paint ALL THE THINGS gold

    - have to connect the DJ to the venue to make sure he has power

    - have to make a seating chart

    - have to write vows / pick readings / figure out the ceremony

    - have to take out my own underskirt because the alterations lady didn't do it right

    oh dear

    I'm pretty sure there's more...

I am freaking out! Just a lot of details. I think no matter when you start planning when it hits this time, its super stressful. We have most of our DIYs done. But now its logistics, timeline, seating chart, how I want the tables set up. We have the decor, its just figuring out layout. Smiley smile

ETA: @Anais - I completely forgot to pick our readings! THank you!

I'm only a few days past you and I have been feeling the same way. I really want to enjoy this time so I finally told FH that his next day off we are going to barrel though a bunch of tasks and anything that doesn't get done just might not GET done. At this point I figure we have everything we really HAVE to have to have a fun day, and everything else is just gravy. So we will do a bunch of stuff in this one day and from then on it's only if I feel like it! (aside I suppose from tracking down the RSVPs, getting those to the vendors, and my last 2 fittings--can't really skip those things)

@original you are always so sweet! @amie and Jennifer, thank you! @anais I keep finding more to add to the list..it's endless.

I just told my dad I wanted to cry and instead he made me laugh. His "professional" advice was "don't worry it's not going to be the fanciest, but it's not going to be the worst." Then he told me about the bride, still in her gown, at the bar this past weekend fighting with her new husband. And said "see it's not going to be that bad." Thanks dad!

Definitely look at your list of items and prioritize them from most important to least important. Start working on the most important tasks, and if possible remove a couple of items from your to-do list....and then don't think about them ever again.

That is what I had to do with my DIY list...it was starting to get out of control, but I determine which projects were absolutely needed and necessary...and it relieved a lot of stress about getting it all done once I took several off my list.

Right now I am in a good place. This week I am wrapping up all the final details with each of our vendors, final fitting, picking up the marriage license that we have already filed for, ordering desserts, make last minute honeymoon reservations, and collecting RSVPs.

Still have favors/escort cards to make, bachelorette party, finalize seating (I have a preliminary created right now), rehearsal, finalize groomsmen and FH parent's gifts, decorate the reception space, and make beauty appointments the day before the wedding.

@tori, I have been so laid back until the last couple days and now I'm totally freaking out. We are going to be having 10 family members from oot staying with us from thurs-tues so I think that's adding to it. @reggie I'm making lists now, between ww procrastinating, I'm gong to try to get so much done each week starting with the most important things. What doesn't get done will only be noticed by me. Good luck!

Lol I nearly broke down at Hobby Lobby the other day! I still have so much to do and it's amazing how people always say "if you need help, just ask" so you finally ask for help and they've got plans, can't find the time, etc. Oh well, this will work out somehow.

Still am tracking down RSVPs (only 1/3 of my list replied! ;_Smiley winking

Need to finalize things with caterer & chair/table rentals once RSVPs finalized

Have the dress, now need to still get everything else for it

Need to finish the centerpieces (all that's left is cutting logs into slices to set lanterns on)

And so much more just little things... I'm hoping that my mom comes through and is able to help me knock a good deal off the list this weekend!

I know it doesn't make you ladies feel any better, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one who's overwhelmed right now. I hope I don't kill my 16 year old today while he's driving. Probably a bad day to let him practice. Good thing he loves me ;-)

I had a mini panic attack earlier too. I'm just nervous!!! like that's the only thing i feel!

i have tons of things to do too but i need to focus and do the most important things first. I noticed i'm getting sidetracked a lot and buying random things like welcome signs and other unnecessary items i didn't want before.

once my dress is completely altered, we write our vows and buy our marriage license i'll go back to IDGAF mode.

eta: i also had almost 5 months to plan! I'm glad I won't be dealing with the planning for longer Smiley smile

Oh man, so many emotions! SOOO excited, but yes, definitely SOOOOOOOO much left to do. Mainly decorating and stuff like that, but also need to get the alcohol ordered and write my vows! Everything else is (seemingly) good to go....

    Congrats date twins! Smiley smile

    Hello,

My to do list is also long: menus, programs, timeline, bridal party line up order, guest boxes, making payments, seating chart, decor, gifts, etc. The whole time I have been engaged, I have been planning every time that I get a moment, and have been so nervous/stressed the whole time.

I am really excited to have the wedding, be married, and adjust to our new life.

I'm a week behind you and in a similar boat: so many things left to do!!! Also started my planning process in April. But I'm sure we'll all pull through, and have a wonderful wedding. Cheers!

Hi date twins! We set the date and started planning in March. We are actually in good shape. We just have a few small things to buy and make our play list. The main thing we are doing is final vendor meetings! Last weekend was florist. Tuesday was photographer. Wednesday was string trio. Tonight was officiant. I am feeling a little emotional after tonight's meeting. Just so special to be planning our ceremony and talking about "our love story".

We've sent our ceremony to the Officiant, just waiting to hear back. I ordered the bouquets and such yesterday. Have finally sent a couple needed emails. To be honest with family issues, family health issues, my sister out of the county and trying to get back because her dad's sick, school starting for my boy, and just plain not feeling good, I have no energy left for wedding stuff right now.

I'm a week after you. We seem to be in similar timeline situations as we only had about 5 and a half months between proposal and wedding date. I'm pretty much in full freakout mode. You aren't alone!
