My brother did this at his wedding and it worked just fine. The brides father made the entire set up.

We are doing this. We will have an afternoon ceremony. We bought props and signs at Dollar Tree and Party City as well as a couple of frames from thrift stores and will add a few things we already have. We bought hanging flower vine to hang on the wood fence as a backdrop.

Are you thinking of having a Poloroid camera guests would use or encouraging them to use their own phones to take photos?

One of my sisters did this! It was definitely a hit. She provided props and people just used their phones, no selfie sticks or extra lighting.

That sounds like a good idea! We're doing a DIY photo booth, making our own backdrop and props. I think that will be fun!

I’ve seen it before - think it’s a good idea— some people set up an iPad/tablet or camera on a tripod (or not) and let people leave videos or take selfies with it

My brother did this. They got a ring light with a
little phone holder so it was set up so that you could rest your phone in the ring light and take your picture. At first people were using their own phones and just taking pics for eachother but eventually my brother just left his phone on the stand and everyone used that so he got all the pics and shared them, which worked great. It was a big hit , and the ring light made the pictures look awesome

Aha! Here’s a pic of their set up! I think they spent a little for the ring light & stand, but the picture quality made them look basically like they were from a photobooth

I think this sounds like a great idea, Emily! You could get props online and create a backdrop if you liked. If you wanted to create a 'station' that would draw attention, a ring light could be a good idea. Also, who doesn't love some good lighting in their selfie?!
