Second/reception dress

I have not done this but I think you could go much more casual with the reception attire. I’ve even seen some switch over to a romper

My second dress IS from a bridal line, but it’s a very unconventional bridal dress. It’s knee length, champagne/gold colored and sparkly, and feels more like a party dress. My ceremony gown is much more “bridal” and formal. They have completely different looks and vibes. I loooooove my ceremony dress, but I wanted my dress for the dancing portion of the evening to be more comfortable, easier to dance in, and convey “let’s dance and party!”

I got a second dress, but it's also a wedding dress! For my ceremony, I'm wearing a fuller A-line gown, but for the reception, I'm wearing a fit&flare! I got both at a local bridal salon that has very affordable prices, so I was still within budget after buying both.

The city we're staying in has great night life, so I'm considering getting a cute dress or jumpsuit from Lulu's or another site, just in case we go out after our reception is over!

You can wear a white evening gown, prom dress, or an inexpensive wedding dress. My reception dress is custom made and probably a little more expensive looking than my ceremony gown. DB has tons of inexpensive dress options if you’re looking for a second dress. You can also try Etsy and any department store.

I'm planning on wearing my dress the whole night till the end of the reception, however I plan on buying a second dress from Lulus or something similar as an "after party" dress.

I ordered this as my 2nd dress, I ordered it off Lulus. My original dress is a big ball gown.
