Second guessing...help!

Ashley, on January 27, 2022 at 2:22 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 10

Hello here, I'm second guessing my dress decision! I am getting married in June at a beautiful, rustic elegant historic estate. I'm going for a groovy/modern/retro-glam/chic theme with lots of icelandic poppies, wildflowers, and colorblocks.

Photo A: I bought a dress that is simple/modern (for sample price online) and liked it when I tried it on at the store. I like the front cut/simplicity, and the back is very intriguing! Love the buttons. I worry that I want a full back rather than the tulle mesh.

Photo B: I heard that the cape I had my eyes on a few months ago came into my local bridal shop. So I just had to try it on with a dress I was debating on last week. I love the cape and dress combo—although it would be nice to see what a smaller size feels like! My only concerns include the front bottom seams and whether it goes with my theme, especially poppies. (And this one is full price, which I don't want it to be about $$ as the first dress –new– costs the same.)

I have tried on the cape with Photo A dress and it works okay—pretty color in color and material. Decisions! Need to decide by tomorrow whether I'll order Photo B dress or stick with my first dress. Thoughts?

The photos are small so I don't see details, but that second dress really makes an impact! And the cape makes it so special. If you really can afford the second one, I would order it.

This is really tough. They're both gorgeous.

I personally think the first dress would look lovely with the cape and the gap showing the buttons would be super pretty, but the photos are quite small so it's hard to mentally picture.

I think both dresses work with those beautiful poppies, so that wouldn't even enter the equation for me.

Which one makes you feel more like you'd hoped to feel on your wedding day? Which one do you not want to take off? Which one makes you feel teary-eyed, and picture walking down the aisle to your partner? I'd pick whichever one gives you that feeling!

You look beautiful in both! I think it depends on what you feel like in each one. For what it's worth the second dress is really unique, and I do love the cape.

I would go with option A. I like the way it fits your body. It looks like it was made for you!

Here's a photo of the combo! The material is slightly different and only noticeable up-close. (I wish I had clipped the dress when I tried on the cape as the dress is a bit loose and chest not my size Smiley winking )

Oh I love that! The other is also pretty so I don’t think you could go wrong, but the buttons through the gap is just really different and charming

I’ll be the outsider. I like dress a without the cape, but if you want to use the cape, do dress b. You look great in both options.

In the pictures, the mix and match setup looks like the cape is whiter than the dress (although not by much). You can’t see it in the pictures from the front, but I do think it’s noticeable in the back, particularly on the train (maybe it’s different shine on the fabrics?). That would personally drive me nuts.
