Seating those who do not RSVP

I am working on my seating arrangements for the reception. I am having a buffet style and per advice I have seen given by WW, I have decided to assign tables and not specific seats. Now my problem is I know there will be people who either don't RSVP and I am unable to get an answer out of or people who say they are not coming and end up showing up. I'm sure this has already been talked about on here but I couldn't find anything recent. Is it okay to make a table just for those who do not RSVP? Or should I just let them wait and see if there will be any open seats because of others who RSVP'd and don't show up? What is the proper etiquette on this? Or what is the smoothest way to handle a situation like this? Thanks in advance.

ETA: Who calls those who have not RSVP by deadline?

So glad this was posted as I gained some great ideas from this. I am of the stance that if A) A guest did not RSVP, or B) RSVP'd no then showed up, and I did my due diligence with following up with everyone about it after the deadline, I truly do not feel bad about not putting out extra tables, favors, etc. etc. just to accommodate these folks. I really like the idea to either leave some one spots on tables as can be accommodated and/or leaving spaces at the vendor's table. Grand idea.

I wouldn't spend too much time on the seating chart if your wedding isn't until November. I started mine before I heard back from everyone and it's amazing how quickly the tables change if someone can/cannot make it.

Yeah KDS I'm not too worried about it yet. I just want to have an idea of how I need to do it when the time comes.

We didn't have anyone show up without RSVPing, but we had a few people we were worried might do this. We had some no-shows, unfortunately and we also had a few tables with one or two empty seats. We didn't want to have one empty table, so we made sure we had some empty seats at a few tables.

Set up a table with a cheap plastic table cloth, no center piece, no nothing. On the seating chart: if you didn't rsvp, you are welcome to sit at table X. Maybe put a not sorry note on the table, "if we had known you were coming..."
