Seating plan with no sweetheart table

I assume this falls under the category of "you do you", but I wanted to make sure.

We aren't doing a sweetheart table because our venue doesn't really have the room for it, and FH doesn't like the idea. Fine.

We have no real bridal party, other than our best man and MOH (who is my sister). If we sat with my sister and her boyfriend, plus our best man, and two other friends (my partner's writing collaborator and his wife), there's nothing wrong with that, right? I would put my brother and his date with my mom and stepfather, and I'd put my father with his mother, and friends who they would get along with.

Sounds like you have it all figured out. I don't see any issue at all. ETA. If sound like you are having a head table with a couple extra friends. That's perfectly fine IMO

Sounds perfect! We sat at a normal round table with our immediate families because the math worked out and we all fit perfectly Otherwise we just would have sat with a few couples from the wedding party. Do whatever you want!

I'm probably going to be doing the same thing! FH hates the idea of a sweetheart table, I feel like it'd look awkward in the venue and we have no wedding party. We'll probably sit surrounded by our immediate families.

This is what we're doing. FH and I are picking the people we like the most to sit with at a normal table. I don't need people staring at me while I eat.
