My wedding is June 2nd and we are having an outdoor ceremony that will be very short and I need seating for it. The venue provides 30 chairs and we need seating for about 100 people. Does anyone know if renting hay or straw bales is cheap and if so anywhere that rents them or does anyone know of any chair rental or other option that is pretty cheap? Please help!

I would look at rental companies on Craigslist, I found some great options in NC. I know it sounds sketchy but lots of new business advertise on there and will cut you a deal. I saw someone renting church pews for 20 a pop. We're getting married that same weekend and I am renting a bunch of lanterns from her for a fraction of what it would cost to buy them. Also do you have anyone with a connection at a church or school? If you don't care if the chairs match, ask to borrow them. A lot of political organizations will also have folding chairs. Added labor but will save you some money.

Ask local public schools. In the school districts near me (including the school I graduated from) all high school graduations are held in local college basketball arenas, so chairs from the schools themselves aren't used.

Hay bales aren't cheap unless you know someone. Look at rental places. We have places by me that have chairs as low as $1 per chair, but of course they aren't fancy, just metal brown chairs.
