Seating decoration advice, please?

Saki, on September 11, 2019 at 12:04 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 26
So this is where I am getting married and these benches are already there. I wanted to decorate them or put blankets on them for guests to sit on, but I only have 16 needing seats, so should I decorate all of them or just a few rows? We obviously aren’t going to take up all of the rows! I’ll also take suggestions on how to decorate them!

I would decorate all of them in my opinion. It would look even and people can sit apart if they choose to.

My first thought was to hit a thrift store and add a bunch of cute blankets to the first couple of rows if you want a homespun kind of look. If not, and the budget allows, what about small cushions or just place flowers or lanterns at the end of each bench.

Can the excess benches be moved away for your ceremony? If not, I would probably decorate all of them just for the sake of consistency!

We're having benches too and these are the ideas I've toyed around with, leaning towards the mason jars on shepherd's hooks!

I would decorate them all so that people can sit apart. I also think the undecorated ones would look odd in photos.

I had thought about the cushions too, but I don't know what i would do with them afterwards. i don't have any vendors, so i don't know that i want to hire one to rent just decorations for the seats, so leaning towards the blankets idea. There are small little hook things for flowers, so i'm also thinking about putting flowers at the ends. My mom's just a little high maintenance and doesn't want to sit on a naked bench that's just been sitting outside for years, haha. Thanks for your input!

Thank you! i love the idea with the flowers. i don't know if we are able to move the benches, so i think decorating all of them will be the best bet. it's not an official venue with anyone that runs it, so i want to be sure not to disturb it too much for the next person to use.

Thank you! plus the weather is hit or miss, and we got our first snow in the mountains last night, so I was thinking it would just help make it feel warmer, even if it ends up being a cold day.

I think cushions may turn into a hassle and expense for you, but can see why some guests would be iffy. Could you go to the site a day ahead or so and just wipe all the benches down? I think that and some flowers at the end that you suggested would be great!

I personally would decorate all of them!! You can blame my OCD for that!! But seriously I think it would look uniformed for the rest of the decor.
