Seating chart- special places for bride and groom?

Allie, on July 24, 2019 at 12:25 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 11

I'm working on my seating chart at the moment. My venue has round tables that each seat 6 or 7. We aren't having a sweetheart table (maybe) so right now we are sitting with FH's daughter and my family. Should we place ourselves in the center of the room? Close to the cake? Near the food? attaching a sketch of the layout. We aren't having a huge dance floor.

I would position yourself close the entrance/dance floor. We may not have room for a sweetheart table as well and may sit with my bridesmaids. I'm making sure our table is position to make easy to get up and sit down near the dance floor.

Thanks! That's where I originally had our table, I was just second guessing.

I was next to my dance floor which also served as the stage and was also next to the cake

I agree, try and put yourself close to the dance floor. PS, I love the use of engineering paper!

If it were me, I'd probably position myself in the center of the bottom wall opposite the food.
Assuming you're having a buffet, being near the buffet line might encourage people to stop and chat. Which could potentially create a clog in line flow, and also continually interrupt you trying to eat.

We're doing a sweetheart table in the middle of the room! Our dance floor will be in the room beside the reception area so we're sitting where everyone can see us.

We sat with our children, our special needs child's nurse, and the nurse's 2 kids at our wedding. I put our table in front facing the rest of the tables (ours was rectangular, and everyone else had round). We were beside the dance floor/DJ/entrance.

I would near the entrance facing the cake. Unless you don't want to be close to the DJ.

I would positin yourselves so that no one is behind you. Always looking out to your crowd. And if that doesn't work, my thought is don't rack your brain trying to figure it out because really how long will you be sitting at your table?

Yes, near the center close to the dance floor. It's the perfect place to be and you will be in the "heart beat". Have fun!!!
