Seating Chart Help?

Sara, on May 10, 2022 at 4:07 PM Posted in Planning 7 5
Is there an app or website to help design seating charts? If it helps, I’m using Minted to collect my RSVPs. Thanks in advance.

You can plan the seating chart on this website. Under planning tools

Yes, there is one here, but on the desktop version only, not the mobile app.

I found the wedding wire seating chart to be the most user friendly because I am a visual person. You can pick your table style (round, rectangle) and how many chairs at each and move it around to where it will be in the space. The only annoying thing was that I had to bring over my guest list from Zola, but I didn’t like their tool.

Rvspify.com has a great seating chart tool. The other option is to make a poster board diagram with post it note strips and put guests’ names on each that you can move around

For larger guest counts, the thing that saves the most time is working in layers rather than one guest at a time.

Layer 1: Assign every guest to a relationship group (bride's side, groom's family, college friends, work, etc.)
Layer 2: Assign groups to tables (this places 7-8 people with one decision)
Layer 3: Fine-tune individuals within tables

That approach cuts the work dramatically compared to placing one person at a time. If you have 150 or more guests, this breakdown might also help: seatbee.app/blog/large-wedding-seating-plan-150-guests. It covers the specific challenges that come up at larger headcounts that do not apply to smaller weddings.
