Seating Chart - Frame or Poster Board

Sharlean, on September 22, 2010 at 10:35 AM Posted in Planning 0 24

Hi, Anyone have any examples or ideas of a good seating chart. My thoughts were to print the names out alphabetically, buy some poster board and cover it with fabric etc. Just wanted to see what others were doing?

Thanks

I'm glueing wine corks to a background in a design. Then, using one of our E-pics for each table, printing the name of the table and the guests seated there. Then going to buy fancy thumbtacks and pin the pics up. Its hard to explain. If I wasn't at work I would post a picture.

I am actually using WW tool for the seating chart. I haven't begun yet, but it looks pretty easy!

Thanks everyone for the advice and pictures. I was looking at zazzle.com and you can get a poster board size printed. Not sure about it yet need to look further into the details of ordering etc.

Here are mine... i made 3 to hang all together (i have nearly 400 guests invited) Its going to be hung in an entrance way/room before you enter into the reception so i was looking for something fun.

The 2nd pic is up close so you can see what the cards look like - they just hang on the ribbon when they take theirs the inside says the table number. The top of the boards has 4 sayings True Love - Soul Mates - Together Forever - My Love.

I love the Idea of the frame, I went to the thrift store and found tons of small photo frames at around 30-80 cents each. so I'm going to use those for seating.

Are you talking about a seating chart used in planning? Or an escort card table? I'm confused...

I am referring to a seating chart board, or frame that tells the guests where they will be seating.

I am using the planning tool on wedding wire which is great.

    Thanks again.

@Mrs Jacques - I love your board! The last card has some large lettering on it to fill space...what does it say? just curious! Oh...can I steal your idea? It would make things A LOT easier!

Mine is going to be a frame with decorative background paper and ribbon every couple inches. Sort of like dsmchix2nv's with the names on the outside of the folded paper and the table name or nmber on the inside.

I used the template from this site:

    http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/diy-seating-chart

I changed some stuff like the font for the names and date but kept the rest the same. We bought a gorgeous frame for it which can be reused in our home for our wedding photo!

I did the foam board you were talking about! Turned out beautiful.

Took the template from weddingbee and then had my printer put it on foamboard. $20.00

I saw this on theknot.com and I think that I am going to try to recreate it! It's just a blackboard with distressed window frames over it.
