What's the easiest/fastest way, with the least amount of lines on how to create a seating chart for 900 guests?

If you're real, you need a planner who does corporate events. Or county fairs. And is good at crowd control. 900 guests cannot even pick up a name tag and find a table in less than an hour.

I don't get it, I'm sorry. The biggest wedding I've ever done was 385, and everything we did took five times as long. It was complete chaos from beginning to end and it WAS at a fabulous venue that is very, very good at this.

I had 300 people in a tiny little town in PA. It easily could have been bigger. We had a planner that helped. We had poster sized signs by alphabet. The cocktail hour was about 90 minutes. The doors opened after an hour which gave people time to figure out where to go. I have seen a few Indian weddings with 600 or more people. There have been a couple on some of the weddings shows too. Hundreds of guests and 2 ceremonies. Now that's a lot of work.

I'm honestly curious; how does anyone invite this many people to a wedding? Why? I'm not being snarky, I just don't understand it.

I never said this is for a wedding. (this site doesn't ask for "date of event" only a "wedding date". It's a company dinner on June 21st in Maui. Where 450 employees are allowed to bring 1 guest. I'm a party planner (for fun) not a professional. I've been given the task to create the easiset flow for assigned tables for dinner of 900 guests. The most I've ever handled was 350. I've been internet searching for ideas and I signed up on this site to get as many suggestions as possible which were extremely helpful! Thank you all very much, I really appreciate you taking the time to give your advice. Congratulations on your nuptuals!

This is not a task for a non pro. Sorry. And frankly, a little rude to the women here who actually thought you were having a wedding.

Wow. I thought I had a lot with 500 but 900.. yeah good luck with that. One thing I can tell you im doing is having a lot of host and hostesses who can help with this. they will help people find their seats. Don't do individual cards just post it up somehow and also make sure the host and hostesses have a list and a chart with the table numbers so they can direct them

Use the seating chart tool on this site. That was helpful for me.

"this site doesn't ask for "date of event" only a "wedding date"."

Probably because this is WEDDINGwire. Not Planyourcompanypartywire.

That scares me even thinking about hosting that many people lol. but I would section them off by groups first and foremost... like FH family, your family, his friends, your friends, co-workers... etc... then I would create a seating chart for each group so it doesn't seem so overwhelming... I also like Kings lottery idea lol

If it is a company thing, then I would have a check in desk where they can all look for their names. This is a wedding forum. You should talk to your caterer or planner for their suggestions.

You will need multiple display areas for people to get their escort cards at. Since its outside having signs that stick into the sand/ground would look adorable pointing people in the direction of the tables.

Big Signs in your decor theme that have A-F cards then F-I and so on. Then wedding signs strategically placed to help people find their seats, along with a few coordinators to assist.

Check this site out for ideas on signs
