Is anyone wedding planning and in school? If so, how’s it going and any tips? Did you get a wedding planner?

Oh man props to you, i am sure that is a lot going on!

i am in school now and am a bridesmaid and i know for sure with all my duties and stuff i have to get ahead on assignments when i am gone on pre wedding events or whatever else do i can't imagine if i was in school and planning my wedding.

my tip would be try to get as much done of either or ahead of time, as possible. and don't forget to take some breaks for self care

Hi Taylor! You don't have to hire a wedding planner, but planners are always a big help!!

Are you going to school in the same area where you'll get married? I have one friend who planned her Cape Cod wedding while she was in grad school in Chicago - and she specifically chose a venue that was pretty all-inclusive and hired a planner she trusted to oversee everything!

Here are a few other conversations I've seen about being in school while planning a wedding, you should check them out and connect with those brides: Grad School and Wedding and College students trying to make it work.

    Hi Lynnie,
Your reply was so helpful. I don’t think I’m going to hire a wedding planner because we have a lot planned and h can utilized it winter break to get a few things done. We seem to have the big parts out of the way, it’s just getting the other little things in order! I’m also going to check out the other post you told me about!
    Thank You

    Hi Melle,
I really appreciate your post. Any position with being in a wedding and school, I do believe could be a challenge. Thank You for reminding me about self care too, it can be easily forgotten when you’re so busy!

I planned my wedding while in grad school. We tried to get the bulk of stuff done during summer/winter break and had the wedding in the following summer to make sure it didn't interfere with my schedule. We didn't hire a planner and did it all ourselves.

I think it's perfectly doable to plan your wedding, while going to school. You can hire a planner if you want, they'll definitely help you out a lot, but I recommend hiring day-of-coordinator more to help keep you on track on the day of the wedding.
