Hey all, I been having unexpected expenses and will have to pay like 750 dollars for car and my hearing aid repairs. I can't afford that. We are paying for wedding, honeymoon and new apt. So I been thinking about getting married through skype. Military covers hearing aid and the repairs itself. So I could save $250 for hearing aid repairs. Does anyone know where I can get that done? My FS might can use skype next month. He is in deployment until dec. Thanks. And plz don't judge me.

All I know Is my BIL and his wife both live in Germany while he's in the military. They sent some papers to some state over here and some company signed them and sent them back a month or so later we got sent his license and we sent it to him. I'm not sure what he did tho but, both married parties were present just the person marrying them wasn't. I can ask my DS what they did if you like.

    Please do arlala.

Thanks FMS. We are on our own to pay for wedding, honeymoon which might be on hold and new apt. I already send out invitations so I cant reduce the list. Eloping is the best way for now for our expenses and I need a better isurance than mine.

I would research it more Megan - I read an article (maybe it's already been posted) that a couple did it and while the military gave them a heartache over it they still recognized it in the end and they ended up getting the benefits. If benefits are what you need it might just work. I think as far as it being legal in the state you'd have to re-do it during your planned wedding.

And I agree with Miya, FS gave me power of attorney before he left and you might be able to get a lot farther with that in hand.

Did y'all live together before he was deployed? in the State of Teaxas if we live with someone and we are introduced as a wife or husband that means you have a common law marriage and you are able to get any benefits other married couples get. So check into your laws this might help you get the benefits at least... Robin
