Say yes to dress lawsuit!!

Mb2Md, on March 25, 2016 at 6:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 27

If someone already mentioned this recently just let me know but I didn't see it on here .. Apparently SYTTD plans to air an episode of a bride choosing her dress BEFORE her wedding (ruining the surprise )and she sued !!' She lost the case .... What do you guys think ?? ... I'd be furious but I can't believe this hasn't come up before .. Or isn't discussed when U sign the contract

I think it's her fault. She knew she would be on tv at some point and it could be before her wedding. Soooo

Moral of the story: don't sign a contract without reading it.

I read that earlier and thought about posting the article here lol. I would imagine it would be stated somewhere in the contract.

And the precedent shoes that SYTTD has aired a number of other episodes before the brides on the show had their weddings. I can't see how she thought she would win this unless she had documentation of the show's promise to air her episode after a specific date.

Well legally, a "verbal agreement" is useless. If it's that important to you, get that shit in writing.

Even if she HAD gotten it in writing, I feel like this is just such a first world problem. Chill out. It's not that bad. It's just a dress, and you won't be any less married just because the world saw it before your wedding.

When you go they make you sign PPW basically saying they can do whatever they want. She never would have won that suit. She should've read the fine print

I read that article and I thought she sued because they told her it would air after her wedding and that's the only reason she agreed to it. That's why she sued because that ended up not being the case. Either way moral or the story is don't buy a $40,000 wedding dress.

I don't care how much money I ever have I would not spend that money on a wedding dress. Mine is less then 2k and I adore it. Be better suited going to a charity

Ugh yeah, I saw! It sucks that she lost, it she should have gotten it in writing that they won't air it before her wedding in May

She was also a replacement for the person they were supposed to have on the show, who I imagine probably had a wedding prior to today. That person didn't show, she said she would be on, didn't read the contract, has too much money, the end.

Who cares? I mean if other people saw it before I wouldn't give two shits. If FH saw it I would be pissed, but he would never watch the show, so no worries.
