Make a budget!! We don’t eat out as often as we used to. We also have been selling a lot of things around our house that we don’t use or want anymore!!😊

Once you know your wedding budget and wedding date, divide the budget and amount of months remaining, you’ll find out how much you need to set aside each month! seems too good to be true but it’s worked for me and my FH.

I made an excel spreadsheet and listed all of my bills. Then I listed the variables like food, gas, utilities, etc. and estimated what I spend on those (shoot high). Subtract that from what you bring home each month and you can see how much you're able to put away comfortably. I have an auto draft into my savings account on the 1st and 15th so I never even see the money. If I have extra money at the end of the month because we spent less than usual, I'll pay for something wedding related with my debit card and won't reimburse myself with money from the savings. For instance, our electricity bill was super low this last month so I purchased candles and candle holders straight from my checking account. I log every.single.purchase on my excel sheet so at the end of all of this, I'll know exactly how much we spent on the wedding (though I'm not sure I'll really want to know... lol) I plan to put more money away with my tax returns. If you're going on a honeymoon, look into a travel card and use it to put deposits down and then immediately pay it off. We're paying for our flights in full with the points we've racked up AND building creditSmiley smile

We set a goal to save every month. For us it was $1000 each. We both worked overtime to reach the goal. Smiley smile we also ate out less, didn’t get each other Christmas gifts and are doing some serious meal preps for the week! We are also trying to lose weight so that definitely helps!

Best of luck on your saving!!

Make saving automatic. I have money transferred every pay check automatically to my savings.

We have set a budget for the wedding, figured out what we currently have to put towards it and budgeted how much more we need to save each month. We are cutting back on eating out and small things like name brand food and Starbucks (that's been a struggle Smiley cry )

Taylor had an amazing point about credit cards. If you have to spend all this money, might as well get rewarded for it! I actually put everything I buy on credit cards and pay it off every month because points.
Travel is my personal preference, but there's probably some great cash back cards out there if that's more your thing.

We're going to get a separate account to put all the wedding money in just so we won't spend it. We're also eating out less and spending more time at home.
