Save the Dates

Jasmine, on June 16, 2020 at 1:59 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 37
Due to the virus and a couple of setbacks, our time line has been a bit out of whack and has not gone the way I was hoping. Our wedding is in February and we have yet to send out save the dates! The production time can take a few weeks and then not to mention shipping. We'd still have to mail them to our guests.

After all is said and done, I'm guessing our out of town guests won't get them until maybe August. Im not complaining about it and I wouldn't mind still doing them but I'm just asking would it even be worth it to still do save the dates or should we just jump in to invites??

You can do virtual save the dates and then just do paper invitations?

I think that should be fine. That gives them about 6 months to plan.

6 months is plenty of time for STDs

We sent our STD mid / late March for our October wedding. The only people it's really beneficial for are the ones traveling from other states. (In our case... that was everyone including us). LOL

It's all good! I freaking out about ours as well. My husband wanted to make special ones so he was in charge of them and he kept putting off doing them. I had wanted them to go out in November before the holidays and he didn't get them done until the first week of December so they ended up going out the second week of December when everyone was sending out holiday cards which is exactly what I wanted to avoid.

😂 Yea we have some the next state over so not too bad and then a few family friends who may or may not have to fly. I have no idea where they are lol. The others we can just hand deliver.

Wow. Yea, my FH is a slacker too lol. He's where most of my tension is coming from lol. He wants to wait on almost everything and I'm just sitting in the corner ripping my hair out lol. Sometimes for good reason but others, not so much.

Men lol My husband was supposed to make our invitations and told me for about 6 months he was going to make them, but finally a month before they needed to be sent out I told him I was just ordering them. He also was supposed to make our escort cards because he wanted ones that looked like hockey tickets, but after asking him over and over again about them I found a template on Etsy and used that.

Oh my goodness. I don't blame you. I probably would have done the same thing. Yet here we are loving them to death cause we can't help it lol.

Not sure if this will make a difference, but my cousin who I was really close to growing up. Just sent her STD's for her wedding. Her wedding is a week after mine. I'm not sure how many guests she is having. So she sent hers with only 3 months left. I'm sure COVID was part of that reason, but she probably sent them once she got the all clear. Funny thing is now I have to add her to my guest list since I wasn't planning on inviting her but since our weddings are a week apart I feel like I have to now lol!!

I think it is worth it. Save the dates are typically sent at the 6-8 month mark anyway. 10 months for a DW.

I'm guessing she meant to send them earlier but with COVID probably was waiting it out. But I was super surprised to receive the STD. Her brother didn't invite my family to his wedding last year.
