Save the Dates

Brandi, on June 24, 2019 at 5:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Are STDs necessary? I think we would only need to send them to out of town guests for planning purposes. Thoughts?

Save the dates aren’t necessary unless you’re having a destination wedding, lots of out of town guests, or a week day wedding.

Our wedding is on a Friday. So maybe we do need STDs

I would send them since some guests may need to take time off work.

I don't think they're necessary. you can even just do it informally like emails

I think if it's a Friday people might need to coordinate work so you should do something. But it doesn't have to be paper. You can do emails, or texts, or even just telephone calls.

We have a lot of out of town guests (and even out of country) that we wanted to let know before the invites went out so they could plan better. We didn’t even send out actual save the dates though, we just talked to them and let them know when we were planning our wedding for.

I did electronic save the dates to save on postage and printing the cards. I bought a $4 template on Etsy, designed it then saved as a PDF and sent them to everyone. I just wanted to send them out so people wouldn't make plans that weekend since it is in the summer.

We sent them to all our guests. We had over 50% out of state but even the in state ones would probably want to stay at a hotel. Plus our wedding was in the Summer, so people are busy with vacations then. They for sure aren't required though!
