Save the Dates

Makenzie, on September 22, 2021 at 3:46 PM Posted in Planning 1 5

My fiance and I are getting married on the Fourth of July 2023. We have some family coming from out of state and want everyone who wants to come to make plans to make it for our holiday wedding. When should I send them out?

August/September/October 2022. Sending anything more than a year in advance opens people up to confusion ("wait, which year is this for?") and forgetting they received anything. But feel free to tell your nearest and dearest the date informally once you have a venue reserved. People know how/when to make travel plans without too much handholding.

My suggestion would be Fall 2022.

Anytime between 6-12 months before the wedding which is the standard time. Many people don’t make plans for the 4th until a month or so before.

If you really want certain VIP guests there you can tell them in person/over the phone before and send save the dates to everyone closer to the date as others suggested above

I agree with the rest - I wouldn't send them any sooner than July 5th, 2022 lol. You'd be surprised how many people don't pay attention to the year and think it's the next upcoming July 4th! Guests won't save any more money booking flights or hotel rooms any farther in advance anyway.
