Save-the-dates soa help

Jessie, on October 21, 2019 at 8:02 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
My artistic friend is drawing a cartoony version of us for our save-the-dates and we're turning them into magnets. They're gonna be Sons of Anarchy themed because the show was a big part of the start of our relationship. Is it weird that this is not related to the theme of our wedding? I wanted the save the dates to be fun and I'm using a similar color scheme.

What did you all do for your save-the-dates? Did you match the theme with your wedding or save that for the invites?

Totally fine for them to not match the theme of your wedding. We just picked one that we liked, didn't really put a lot of thought into it.

Our save the dates didn't match our theme at all. We used four of our engagement photos on a black and white background, just simple & elegant in my opinion. They don't have to match your theme or colors at all!

Thanks for the input. My friend offered to draw something up for me so I guess that's why I'm putting more thought into it.

I say if you want to have fun with your Save the Dates, why not?! I don't think it has to match your wedding theme or colors as long as your invitation does. I personally didn't do save the dates. That was only because we got married in an 8 week time frame (my husband found out he was going to be deploying and we had been together for 8 years at that point- we knew we wanted to get married so we made it happen). If we had a more traditional length engagement, I definitely would have. Plenty of people do their Save the Dates as magnets with their photo and that doesn't necessarily go with the theme. So i say if you have to have fun with it, go for it!!

P.S. We love that show too!!!

It is completely fine that your STD is not related to your wedding theme. Ours was not either. We picked something fun and able to show our personality. By the way, I love that yours is SOA themed. My wife and I loved that show! Now we are stuck on The Mayans! Smiley laugh

You can do whatever you want ! My save the dates were basic. Also some people send photos on the save the date but the wedding invite doesn’t show a photo. Mix it up !
