Save the dates Question...Which location did you use?!

Amy-Jo, on September 11, 2011 at 3:10 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

For the brides out there that have your ceremony and reception at two different locations......When putting a location on your STD's did you use your ceremony location or your reception location??

Interesting. I have never seen a save the date with either included. Typically the save the date is just A notification of date and city, with the specifics left for the formal invitation.

Are your ceremony and reception both located in the same city? If so, that's usually all you have to put on a STD. Leave the actual addresses for the formal invite.

Our ceremony and reception locations are in different cities. We put the reception city, but found out it should be the ceremony city.

Unless you ceremony and reception are in separate cities, there's no need for the exact location of either. You only need the city for the save the dates. The location will be printed in the actual invitations later.

I would put the city, but not the actual location. You can put "formal invitation to follow", and that invitation has the ceremony/reception details. Our ceremony is in a different location than our reception, so the invitation only had the ceremony location, and our wedding programs have the reception location.

Both locations are listed on our website though, and our website was on our STDs sent out 10 months before the wedding.

I think she's saying they're in different cities, and asking which to put on there. I would go with the city the ceremony is in, and make sure to include a reception card or link to a website with info about where the reception is.

I didn't include either the church or the venue. I did state formal invitation to follow in the coming months.

I put the reception city but only because they are 10 mins from each other. The distance was negligible.
