How long after sending out your save the dates do you typically send invites? My wedding is in September and I just ordered my save the dates.

We sent out our save the dates beginning of October of last year for our wedding of October this year. I know that’s really early but all of my family is out of town so we wanted to give them plenty of time to be able to plan for time off work if they did wish to attend. But we aren’t sending out wedding invites until end of July mid August at the latest.

Yes! I have some out of state guests as well. I was thinking to send the invites out about 2 months prior. Thank you for your help Smiley smile

We sent our save the dates out 10 months ahead & invites 3 months ahead. More than half our guests lived out of state.

Hey there, Sam Smiley smile For a destination wedding, couples should send their save the dates out eight to 12 months before the big day and invitations two to three months before. If you’re planning a hometown wedding, four to eight months in advance is the best time frame to send save the dates, while invitations are typically sent six to eight weeks in advance.
