Well that would just be an invitation. the whole point of a save the date is to be sent out wayy early so people know to keep that date open. then the invitation is to say ok now heres all the info you need. you dont need to send out save the dates. just do a regular invite! it wouldnt be tacky to make something thats both... just a bit pointless on half. lol. most people who plan their weddings 6 months in advance or even shorter or a time, dont use std's. so dont worry about it!

Mrs. douglas, you're getting married the day after me. my STD"s came in about 2 weeks ago, i just finally got them addressed and stamped, and now it's pretty much time to send out invites! SO, i'm going to go ahead and send the STD's to my OOT'ers, tomorrow. then, the 3rd week of january i'll send out my invites since i have a 3/1 rsvp date. i'd wait and just send the invites out now, not the STD's, BUT with our venue bein in the boonies(well, an unpopulated, really quiet area), i went ahead and ordered cards with directions on them. plus, i also ordered bridal party "party" invites for my girls, so that way, the girls will get their party invite, along with their wedding invite...been goin buck nuts over at vista print Smiley winking even fh is FINALLY noticing all the purchasin i've been doin over there! lol!

oh, if you did a pocketfold invite, i think the STD on the front would be cool. or, another thing rather than "save the date", you could do magnets inside a pocketfold, that say con'td

*meant to say*: with a little card attached saying "an easy reminder"....that way, they have the gorgeous invite, but then a magnet/postcard(inside the invite, not on top), so they can put it on the fridge, rather than having to track down your invite last minute. hell, wish i'd thought about that! but vista print don't make magnets that match all my other stuff! lol

At this point I would not do STDs. Maybe just send out the invitations a little earlier but definitely don't combine a STD with the invitation.

Save the dates are a new trend but not a necessity. The latest they should be sent out is 6 months before the wedding. With your wedding being in March I would recommend sending just the wedding invites. But don't send them too early as people will tend to miss place them. If you need any help with invites let me know.

    Best Wishes,

    Christine
