Save the Date Wording Help!

Christin, on November 28, 2020 at 9:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
Hey ladies! I need help with which city to put on our Save the Dates. Our ceremony and reception will be in different cities, about 30 minutes apart. Do we put down our ceremony city?

I would put the city and state where the ceremony is. I would definitely send out a reception card with the invitation as well as put it on your wedding website to let guests know that they are in 2 separate cities

For the save the date, just list the ceremony city. Guests will get further details on your website and invitation.

Just list the ceremony city. The STD’s are just a very general thing- not a lot of details. The invitations are where you list the specifics of your wedding.

I prefer to see both, somewhere, on a Save the Date. If it is an afternoon or evening wedding, I will want to book a hotel, or find a friend or family to stay with, near the reception, no half hour or more drives after the reception. If you only know the ceremony city, and you choose lodging 15 minutes in the opposite direction from the reception, you end up 45 minutes away at midnite.
