Save The Date Post Cards Or Save The Date On Facebook Events?

Jasleen, on January 24, 2017 at 6:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Ladies will sending Save The Date thru a Facebook event be tacky? The reason my fiancé and I were thinking is because most of our family and friends are on Facebook. We are having an elegant wedding and don't want to be perceived as tacky I just thought it will be convenient for everyone plus i like how Facebook events has reminders of upcoming events. Money is not a factor for purchasing Save the date post cards since there really in expensive on minted. I just thought of being convenient? Please Help

    Yes. It's tacky.

    Why are you yelling?

PLEASE STOP SCREAMING AT ME !!!!!!!

STDs are not necessary. Don't do them through FB. If you absolutely must do STDs, send actual cards.

Remember that STD's aren't necessary! But yelling at people is frowned upon!

Don't do it on FB. If you don't want to spend the money, you can go without them.

A Facebook event would definitely be a tacky way to send a STD. It would be better to call or email your loved ones to let then know your wedding date if you didn't want to send a STD card.

    Please don't yell/use all caps.

Facebook and elegant should not be used in the same sentence.

If I received a Facebook ANYTHING for your wedding, I would assume it's formality was on par with shorts and flip flops. I would also likely decline.

I definitely wouldn't do a Facebook "save the date" or even consider it.

If you want to do electronic, go through Paperless Post. It's free (if you don't opt to use their envelopes, which why do you need to?) and they allow you to collect address information from anyone on the recipient list. That way, it's one less step when you need to address the paper invitations.

But no Facebook. Everyone can see exactly who is invited, and it's too public and weird.

Came here to say what @LynZLeigh said-- I got a paperless post save the date recently and thought it was really clever and pretty.

This is definitely not as formal as a paper STD but I think strikes a nice intermediate balance. I would agree with the other posters her that facebook is not the best idea for all the reasons described.
