Save the date help!

Kayla, on October 12, 2019 at 9:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
I need some advice... Our wedding is in August and it is a mini destination wedding if you will lol about 3 hours from where we all live... I wanted to send out save the dates the middle of this September so people could start planning as we are getting married in the lake Winnipesaukee region and hotels book up fast. We had our pictures taken by my brothers best friend who is a photographer and his company is shooting our wedding. He did this photoshoot as a favor to us and we gave him a little fun money for it however he's been so busy that we still haven't received our photos! I'm debating whether or not to send out save the dates with no photos or should we just wait a little longer? We have spoken with him and he just keeps saying he's been super busy and will get them to as soon as I can which I totally understand. I've heard from a few of our guests that they want to start booking places (our save the dates are going to have places to stay on the back) and have also heard some places are already booked up (I'm going to go look right now) what would you do? Send them without a picture or wait and be patient and hope there is still availability? Sorry for the rambling Smiley smile

I would contact him once again and explain the situation, just like you did here. Ask if he can send at least 1??

If not, I’d have someone else take a quick, casual pic to use and send them out. Good luck!

How long ago did he take the pics? I would wait.... you can tell people that are inquiring the date and hotels via tx.

Im having destination wedding in April . sent mine 10 months in advance.... good thing because my friends were already planning they vacation time for next year!!

Btw I did magnet ones highly recommended them!!! I love visiting people and get surprised when I see my save the dates either on a fringe or office.

Hey there!!!! So I'm sorry you are having that problem. This is what we did if it helps.

    Our wedding is on 10/19/2019

We had blocked rooms for our Destination Wedding in Gatlinburg which is 4.5 hours away 07/2018 but it became available after 11/01/2018 to reserve. It doesn't cost but make sure you have everything in your contract that you need. Like gift bags, Breakfast or Dinner cards, etc.

We did our photos 08/2018 after a wedding I was in (because I didn't want to be rude). We then sent out the invitations around 12/2018. That a way they can request off or blocked their rooms because the hotel does not charge their until arrival date. Cancellation is 48 hours before check-in.

I did mine differently because I put my "RSVP" cards with them (which is a big NO... NO...) It helped us out a lot because out of 100 cards 62 including our Wedding Party is going to be there. We knew where our money was going and helped with the planning.

I suggest you go ahead and block at 2 hotels so when you do send it out they can book. Also you can start off with like 10 block rooms and add 10 more if needed that what we did.
