What info do people generally put on save the date cards other than the date of the wedding and location? I have been fighting with my fiancé and mom all day about how things should be done. He thinks we should make a website and put the website link on the card where the hotel info will be, but she doesn’t think a website should be used and the hotel info should be directly on the card. My fiancé also doesn’t understand the point of not sending out rsvp’s 6-8 weeks before the wedding, when people can easily rsvp on the website he wants to make whenever they want even after receiving save the cards. My mom on the other hand thinks it’s tacky to have people rsvp online and thinks people should it in the mail. What did you guys do for save the dates and rsvp’s and invitations?

I am planning to list the date, the city/state of the event and our wedding website. You can always add RSVP cards to just the guests you know would have trouble doing it online. But the way I see it, less paper, the better

We sent ours out a little over six months in advance. So..a couple weeks ago. Haha. Ours had save the date for the wedding of *our names*.. The date.. Then the city. We also included inserts with hotel block information per the suggestion of our venue coordinator. If people want to get a room asap they can plan ahead. Our invitations will go our out eightish weeks before the wedding and we're doing standard rsvp cards by mail. I don't know how many people would respond online and I also like the idea of a physical card to keep track of better.
