Should i upgrade the reception being that its only like 20 people max attending. And being that we are already at an expensive all-inclusive resort? I could not edit above.

I would upgrade. The reception is an important and fun part of the wedding.

We're getting married at Sandals SouthCoast in Jamaica, and opting to do the free wedding/reception. But, we're also doing a stateside celebration for those not going to Jamaica. My thought was why pay more to upgrade when you can just go to one the restaurants and bars to eat and drink if one so chooses? We're less than a year away and so excited.

Yes I had the same exact thoughts. I'm still thinking about the stateside party too. Thank you! Congrats!

Looks like I should've booked with a sandals resort, instead of Dreams.

Frankly I think you should host more than a cocktail reception for a destination wedding. People are paying thousands of dollars to attend your wedding.
