San Francisco City hall Eloping and lunch/ dinner in Napa.

Private User, on March 8, 2016 at 7:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

HI!

I need some help. I have tried to do some research on what we can do after eloping at city hall in SF. We thought about maybe going to Napa to do wine tasting and then ending up at winery for dinner. Any ideas on who does shuttle tours with a dinner at the end of wine tasting? We plan on having just our parents and siblings (15 people max) Or any other ideas for a small reception on a low budget >_<

My FH proposed in a hot air balloon over Napa. Then we went to Auberge d' Soleil. It's stunning--and they may host small parties.

Hm, I'm not sure if there are specific shuttles that include the dinner, but I'm sure there are shuttles that you can just reserve for X amount of time and then decide on your own itinerary.

If you are open to other ideas, we recently had a brunch at Cavallo Point Lodge, it was really pretty and you could combine it with a ride over the Golden Gate.

Why don't you bag city hall and get married on the premises?> More romantic for sure!

Celia, the SF city hall is an exception I think, it's extremely pretty.

Thank you ladies for the suggestions.

Celia that would be amazing but my budget doesn't allow it. I've looked at some places and nothing for 15 people is under 5,000. Unless I'm not looking in the right places.

I saw that you are in Oakland, we are getting married at the Temescal Beach House, it has a little patio for our ceremony. It is not a restaurant though, so it's probably not what you are looking for.

The trip from SF to Napa is an hour (ish with no traffic) there are beautiful places in SF to go. Why go out of the city all the way to Napa? If you must you should look into the ferry that goes from SF to Vallejo then have a shuttle pick you up there. They serve drinks!

One bride on here rented a suite at a hotel and had her wedding and reception in the hotel suite. Hopefully Mrs.CK will comment. That might be something to look into that could probably be kept under $5000.

Eta: She did not have her wedding in SF, but you could easily do the same thing.

We've gone to Napa often. Have you thought about the Napa Wine Train? They serve dinner and I've heard it sometimes stops at wineries. It will be tough to have dinner at an actual winery though unless they allow caterers. Most places do not serve food. Downtown Napa is a better bet for dinner.

Oh, so many new Bay Area Brides around here! (well new because we had a social in December Smiley smile ).

OP, are you planning on San Francisco because the City Hall is nicer or are there any specific reasons? I think there is also a City Hall in Napa, so you could avoid the drive up there.

Hello Bay Area Brides!!! SF City Hall is stunning. Are you set on Napa or is it just a thought? I considered a small ceremony at City Hall followed by dinner and drinks at Zazie. They put put together a special menu and you can have a half night or full night seating, depending on day of week it may range from $50-75 pp. They have a really pretty patio, and have a lot of smaller wedding dinner celebrations there.

Wow I love all the feedback! Smiley laugh We wanted SF city hall just because it's beautiful. We're totally not set on Napa . I'm open to anything around here or doing city hall in Napa as well. We're really looking into doing something small and on budget. I'm seriously the worse bride to be >_< I'm such a terrible planner .ha!

I'm really going to look at the suggestions ladies, thank you!

I have nothing to add except for I was a BM in one of my best friends weddings at City Hall. It was gorgeous.

We went to napa the week before and did wine tasting, but no shuttle.

Whether you choose Napa or the City Hall, it'll be beautiful. Enjoy!

SF city hall is gorgeous! I know someone who eloped there a few months ago and her photos in city hall are stunning.

A lot of companies do limo or bus wine tours with a picnic lunch included. For something more upscale I think you would need a private tour and a dinner arranged directly with a vineyard. If you do go with a day tour I recommend Beau Limousine Winery Tours. You would need two limos and two guides for 15 people because they do a max of 8 in one of the Mercedes limo buses. The tours that accommodate more people in one vehicle aren't as comfortable. I think it was around $125 per person for the day with 3 wineries and lunch when we went 2 years ago. Tasting fees weren't included but they were like $5-15 per winery and ours all got waived once people found out we were newly engaged.

Jaqui722 thank you! I did find some companies with the lunch option after wine tasting which is great! I'm going to do a little more research and see what I find. Thank you all for suggestions and wishes yay!
