San Clemente / Dana Point brides!! Rehearsal dinner??

My MIL is completely unfamiliar with the area and I’m only somewhat familiar with the area. Where would be good places to have the rehearsal dinner? The venue is not an option as that would be WAYYYY too expensive - like a second wedding. They’re Italian so they’re probably going to invite all the aunts/uncles/cousins to the dinner. (Though I’d really prefer just parents, grandparents, siblings, and the wedding party. How it should be!!) so any suggestions for places that can accommodate 20-40 people would be much appreciated!

Also would anyone happen to know if Sunrise Cafe in San Clemente would allow space reservation for post wedding brunch?? Or would we just have to get there and wait for enough tables to be open to accommodate everyone who will attend the brunch?

Have you checked out the WeddingWire venue directory? It also lists restaurant venues as many couples choose them for their wedding receptions and they also could work great for a rehearsal dinner! Browse the below selection and see if any stand out, they may have a private room you can rent! Dana Point Restaurant Wedding Venues

Alternatively, OpenTable and Yelp would be great places to search!

I would definitely recommend that you reach out to Sunrise Cafe and confirm if it’s possible to reserve space. It may be a lot more straightforward if you can. How many guests are you inviting to the brunch?

I’m getting married at the Casino San Clemente and we’re doing our rehearsal dinner at Wind & Sea. Other places we considered were all the other restaurants in Dana Point’s harbor (like Proud Mary’s). We also looked into renting the San Clemente community center and just bringing in food ourselves. They’re all valid options, just depends what you want!
