Same song for bride and wedding party to walk down the aisle?

Jen, on June 27, 2010 at 10:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

I'm trying to figure out what to do for ceremony music. When we were first dating I made future hubs a CD with the song "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson, so I think I'm going to use that as my song. Can the wedding party come down to the same song? I have 3 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, and 2 ring bearers. This is such a ridiculous thing to be stressing about 4 months before the wedding. Smiley winking Thanks for any advice!

I think that would depend on the length of the song, the length of the aisle, and how your WP will be walking. Is everyone walking alone? That'll take more time then the BMs and GMs walking together in pairs. Other than that though, if you can fit it all into the length of the song, I don't see why not. (I've never heard it though, so I dunno how long it is.)

Good point Carmen.... it really just depends on the length of the song. Also... if you've picked the song for you to meet ur man at the altar... IMO...I think it shud be jus for that...in a way "your song"..

but good post.. I need to start thinking about that stuff myself..

FH is playing "All My Life" (KC and JoJo) on the piano...and as he has to meet me...someone else is taking over.

In any case... I think different songs

My song is a little over 3 minutes long and I only have 2 guys, 2 girls, 1 flwer girl, 1 ring bearer, & me and my Dad and its not going to be long enough.. the aisle is about 80 yds long.

I'm doing one song for all - two bridesmaids and one flower girl, then me. The song is a bit more than three minutes and I think it will work perfectly. I like the continuity, instead of stopping the first song and then starting a second, which we'd only hear a short part of - this way we'll hear pretty much the whole song.

Thanks for the advice. After reading through your posts I checked how long my song is...a little over 2 minutes. And my aisle is 100 yards long. So yeah...I'm gonna need another song for the wedding party. Back to the drawing board...

I did this for my wedding but my party was small. 1 BM and 1 MOH. No RB/FG. The guys were already up front with the groom. What we did was the organist played the instrumental while the BP came in and then they looped back to the top and the soloist sang when I came in.

I have recently decided that the entire wedding party will be walking down to the same song. It will be "Everything" by Lifehouse. Seeing how the song is well over six minutes, this will give ample time for the FH and the GM to come down on the first part. Then the BMs and FG (Yes, I recently decided to go ahead with a flower girl). And then, when the music picks up, I will walk down the aisle with my dad and I think brothers. So, I agree with Carmen about the length of the song. Whatever works will be perfectly fine. =)
