same exact height as my fiance...now what do i do for shoes???

Baranpartyof2, on March 1, 2016 at 8:55 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 46

My fiance is the exact same height as myself. I want to have cute shoes for the wedding but I can't seem to find attractive flats or kitten heels. Who has some good advice? Wearing heels is out of the question. I refuse to tower over my man at the alter!

    Keds or converse?

Is your gown long? Might not matter if it is. I am wearing gold sparkly flats for the same reason. I'll be comfy and he'll be taller.

FH is only an inch or two taller than me, and I plan to wear flats. I found awesome flats that match my wedding colors, and they're comfortable to boot!

I have the exact problem. I thought about cowboy boots or a really small heel

FH and I are about the same height too (he's 1 1/2 inches taller than me). I plan on waiting until the spring collection of shoes comes in and will get some lace flats. I'm hoping TOMs will have some cute ones coming out.

What about ballet flats, or slippers? Have you looked at tieks?

Have you tried Payless Shoes? They have shoes with very low heels that might work for you.

I'm three inches taller. I just preordered blush pink Kate spade sequined keds. They're fancier than my usual flats, but also not more than I was willing to spend on a pair of shoes (I had a coupon so it was $64 total). And sparkly!

Their other flats are pricier, but all super cute.

I'm one inch taller than FH and I am not ok with any extra height!

FH is wearing cowboy boots (which add an inch) and I am walking down barefoot (i have always imagined it this way! And No, its not on a beach. Its at a Catholic church in Michigan Smiley smile

My bridal shop had flat with pearl beads on them-- I just bought those and went with those. Cute, comfy, and since DH wore 'dress shoes' that have a heel, he was then taller (looking) than me.

I thought about sneakers for a while too.

The Kate Spade sparkle Keds stole my heart. I want a pair so bad. I live in my jeans and Keds!

My FH is about 2" taller than me so I'm wearing low heels.

Cathy, I have a love hate relationship with wedding dresses and sneakers! And I just couldn't pull the trigger!! But I love them so!

Lol I might get them for shits and giggles and possibly switch into them if the flats hurt my feet for any reason. I don't want anything standing in my way of dancing.

I'm 2" taller. Flats are the only way to go for me. I also am not into the sneakers/toms/chucks look.

I ordered these Betsey Johnson shoes from Zappos, which I love, but they run suuuper small so I think i'm going to end up returning them. I normally wear a 9 1/2 or 10 and the 10's I ordered are uncomfortably tight. I'm worried 11's will be too big. http://www.zappos.com/blue-by-betsey-johnson-ever-ivory-satin

If it was in the budget, I'd consider ordering custom flats from Shoes of Prey: https://www.shoesofprey.com/

Maybe some pretty sandals. Will your dress cover your shoes? If it does it may not matter what type of shoes you wear no one will be able to tell! Smiley smile

I'd also consider buying lifts for your FH shoes. Even 1" lifts could help a lot.
