Same day ring sizing?

qm7909, on August 7, 2014 at 9:42 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

Anyone know of a good place for same day ring sizing? Long story short... I have to get a band and have it sized by 10 am Sat. Morning.... Yikes! The band is the easy part... Or, since I'm a so 8 and they usually come in sz 7, is there a way to just make it work til after he festivities are done?thanks Smiley smile

I think you'd have to call around to jewelers to see if they could do a ring on the same day that was not bought there. My jeweler was a private jeweler so they sized my ring within a few hours and we picked it up the day we dropped it off, but I was sizing down 2 1/2 sizes to a 4 1/2 from a 6.

So you haven't bought a band yet? You want to buy one AND get it sized in 1 day?

I'd suggest you go to JC Penneys or something and buy a band in your size to wear until you can get a permanent band in the correct size.

    I agree with Melissa.

I get my ring sized at Jared's since thats where my ring came from, and they are always fast. If you get it into the store when they open, I'm sure you would get it back same day.

I would definitely call ahead first though and see if a store will do it in that time frame.

Edit for typos because its the morning.

I agree, I know that JC Penny's send the ring out to be sized & it takes 2-3 weeks, all the other Jewelry stores that have a jeweler on site can do it within a day or two if it was bought there.

Services like this are very few and far between, though. In my case, my engagement ring didn't come from a corporate jeweler, so therefore taking it to my jeweler friend who does same-day sizing didn't void the warranty on it, which will happen if you buy from a corporate jeweler and take the ring to be sized anywhere else, because they won't guarantee some else's work if that person ruins your ring. I would strongly suggest going by whatever your jeweler recommends for sizing after the band is bought. If they can't get it done in time, either use your engagement ring for the ceremony or go buy a substitute band that's in your size for the time being.
