Said yes to the dress!!!

Angela, on August 25, 2019 at 9:21 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19
I really love this dress but didn't have the best experience! Consultant was kinda pushy, only had a few selections. I wanted to go to a different shop just for the experience and to see if there was another dress I could possibly want. When I asked if she could hold the dress just for today, she flat out said NO, started asking me why I didn't like the dress! I told her it wasn't that, it's just that they only had a limited selection. She then proceeded to tell me all the other boutique had the same manufacturer's and I wouldn't find another dress that fits me perfectly for the price. I was so torn, so I purchase the dress!!! I'm having buyers remorse not because I don't like the dress but because of the way I was treated!!! Has anyone else felt like this or was treated this way?!!

You look gorgeous in that dress, but it sounds like you had a terrible experience with your consultant. It's a terrible business practice to bully a customer into buying an item. Is she the store owner or just a salesperson? If she's a salesperson, I'd probably call the owner and let them know the negative impact she had on your experience. Daughter shopped at four different stores (David's and three salons) and they ALL had different dresses, so basically the consultant lied to you to get you to purchase that day. Like I said, you look wonderful, but if you're having second thoughts I'd at least try calling the owner to see if you have any option to stop the purchase until you're more certain. Good luck!

Is there a time frame and which you can get a refund?
I think you sound call and get a refund. You look really beautiful but unhappy in the picture. I think you should try more just for the complete bridal experience.

    Hi Angela,

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. I haven't brought my dress yet but I have experienced a pushy sales person. She started out super nice but at my 2nd appointment with her she showed her true colors. I'm not sure if they expect brides to buy on the first time but that shouldn't change how they treat us if we don't. You look stunning in that dress. I love the top and the bottom is totally my style. I hope when you return for fittings and stuff your experience is a lot better! Good luck!

First let me say that you look gorgeous in that dress. I would call the shop owner and tell them how you were treated and maybe they will let you hold the dress until you have time to look around a bit more. You don’t want to settle if you aren’t 100% sure

I agree. The dress is beautiful but you sound so unhappy with your experience. I would see if you can get a refund and go somewhere else. There are tons of dresses out there. I went to 6 different stores and never tried on the same dress twice. If you can’t get a refund, know your dress looks great on you! I would possibly call and talk to a manager about the salesperson or leave a review on Facebook and yelp.

Thanks Ladies, I really appreciate the feedback!!!❤

I took the dress home after purchasing it. I'm suppose to call them in January to make an appt for February or March at the latest for alterations! They couldn't keep the dress due to them not having enough room in their boutique also there is no refund or exchanges!! I definitely left a review!!!
I will keep the dress ( it was $1400 originally, got it for $400 on clearance, plus I do like it )
I will go elsewhere for alterations, just a lesson learned,...

Oh by the way, It was at the Beyond the Viel Bridal Boutique in Vancouver, Wa!! Just FYI......

You should contact the owner, the salesperson was unprofessional, that kind of attitude will chase away a lot of customers. My petty self would be thinking “alright f*** you too then” and look for the dress elsewhere.

You look stunning! Definitely sounds like someone who only cares about their commission. I didnt have that kind of experience, but I fell in love with a dress from a very limited selection and was worried I hadn't seen enough to know. In the end I think you know. It just sucks that someone who treated you so rudely made money off of you. I would take a complaint to the supervisor

Girl the dress is beautiful but she just wanted to make a sale! You should’ve just left, you deserve a better experience...the dress would’ve been there if you had to go back.

Since you got it for such a good deal, maybe you can wear it as a reception dress and go out again for a better experience...you should never be pressured to make such an important purchase. Again, either way you look beautiful!

    First of all, fabulous dress!

If you bought the sample, it’s true they can’t hold it. If they didn’t have a large selection and you got a good deal chances are it might have sold and you would have lost it. But the salesperson needed warn you/support you rather than push you so rudely. Celebrate your victory then post a review here praising what the store did right but share how horrible that sales rep was (mention first name only). Believe me, the manager/store owner will see it.

I had a similar experience with very nasty saleswomen (who weren’t nasty at first). I felt pressured into buying the dress but at the same time, I love it so much!

You look beautiful in your dress and I am happy that you truly like it. After your experience but going forward while shopping wedding related. even if something is free and the salesperson is that nasty. You tell them thank you but no thank you. Having" a make the sale" philosophy is one thing. But being out right rude is another.

Your dress is beautiful! The way you were treated is simply unacceptable. Write reviews everywhere you can and see if there's a way to speak to a manager or the owner!

Oh wow I am sorry you had that bad experience! I agree call and leave a review but definitely go somewhere else for your alterations and fittings. The dress looks beautiful on you and you got it at a great price but nevee let anyone pressure you to spend YOUR money if you aren't 100% sure about it. I do also say go look and try on others elsewhere if you want.
