RVSP online and by phone only.....

Brittany, on April 4, 2014 at 2:41 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

So I had these print them yourself invitations, which came with RSVP cards. But apparently we now need more invitations, so I designed some myself to take to a photo place to print. I was going to include another card with the invitation, with more information about parking, the reception, and also to say please RVSP online, or by phone, and include the wedding website and our phone numbers. Do you think that will be okay? I mean...pretty much everyone is online these days..including my great aunt and great uncle! I didn't think people would really mail them back anyways...and this would cut out the confusion of "what does that say?" when trying to decipher handwriting....

I will probably be the minority on this one....but I did email and phone RSVP's for our reception. We are having a DW in Florida, for which I sent regular RSVP postcards to everyone, and probably got half of my responses by phone or online. For our reception at home, I decided to forgo the traditional response cards, especially since it's not our "real" wedding. I'm mailing mine out at the end of this month, so fingers crossed!

I think it's ok since you give them the option of calling too. I am doing online and paper RSVP.

I'm doing the same thing!!! How are you planning to word your insert? I'm stuck on that and REALLY need to get it done. My invites are mail ready other than the insert.

    June 6th

    By emailing

    **************@****.***

    or calling

    867-5309

I made a website using WW so that people could RVSP online, and I was going to put both of our phone numbers on it.

I put a email and phone number on my invites.

I've never met anyone that didn't have to contact people to find out if they were attending, so rather then spend time on the RSVP cards, I'm planning on spending the time contacting people.

we'll see how it works out in the end.

I asked people to RSVP at our website or call me. About a dozen actually went to the website - most of them texted/called/told me in person.

My friends did this for their wedding about 1 1/2 years ago. People could RSVP either by e-mail or by phone. We e-mailed them, I think it worked out fine for them as far as responses go.

I am also going to do e-mail/website/phone call only.

I am not going to waste the postage on an RSVP card. When a friend of mine got married a few years back, she forgot to number her cards so about 80% came back without the persons name on it. She had to send out an e-mail and facebook everyone to get the correct information. So, in the end that was like $75 down the toilet for nothing.

I think this is fine. We did online invites and RSVPs where an email was sent and people could get info and reply via the app or website. I think most things are going digital theses days so there isn't as much of a taboo. Even my grandmother replied via the app!

If your family and friends are the more internet savvy kind that is perfect. i had a friend get married in February and she didn't do the RSVP cards and had no idea how many were coming because no one ever took the time to call.
