Dedicated October 2020

Rude vendor

on May 9, 2020 at 10:35 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9
We postponed our July wedding because of all the unknowns. After changing the date, we called one of the vendors about changing the date with him( we already paid him the deposit). His first thing to say was “ why are you changing July wedding? I’m still doing July weddings” also “ oh I turned down two weddings on your date now you changing it, I’m losing this that money” also said he did at least two wedding in while stay at home order and did another wedding about a week ago, so we shouldn’t change July wedding at all.
He was being very emotional and screaming and yelling the whole.
Have you guys met any vendors like that and how are you dealing with it?

Wow. Thats unacceptable. Everyone is stressed at this time but it seems he at least is still doing some buisness and should be grateful. If I were you, I wouldnt want to work with him regardless of anything. And its perfectly reasonable to postpone a July wedding. Im in late August and am thinking of canceling the whole thing... people are still dying here in NY. That guy seems like a total as*hole.

That was beyond rude. While you’re worried about everyone’s health and safety it sounds like he’s just worried about the money aspect of it. If you have to cancel, cancel don’t let him make you feel bad. He doesn’t even seem deserving at this point.

Are you set on this vendor? I would lose the deposit and hire someone else.

I know right!? We told him we understand this is a hard time for everyone so we are not canceling but to reschedule it, then he starts saying “oh well you will have to pay me to cover the loss”. We would have at the beginning but with all the attitude and the way he was yelling at us, it’s making it really hard to working with him anymore.

I would eat the deposit and find someone new. He's obviously unreasonable and not willing to work with you - which is especially ridiculous when this is about health and safety, not a whim

I don’t think we are comfortable working with him anymore, the only thing is if we cancel it we will have to pay 50% of the whole amount, since we are not canceling but rescheduling, but he is making it difficult to reschedule, I’m not sure what to do...

He was very rude and it’s unacceptable how he handled the situation. You need to make it clear his behavior is unprofessional and selfish. It doesn’t matter what other ppl are doing if you want to rescheduled it’s your decision not his. You should fire him and give an honest review.

I will definitely write a review on his website. We are just waiting right now to make sure he’s not going to screw us over because technically we have a contract and it says if we cancel we have to pay him 50%, But since there’s nothing about rescheduling in the contract, we are hoping we don’t have to pay the 50%.....
