Just needed to vent my worries and stress. Okay so My RSVP date is 9/25. We invited 180+ guests. I have only had 40 people RSVP. I have a 100 adult minimum and I'm only at 35 - I'm kinda of starting to freak out because i thought for sure we would have a lot of people come. I gave myself an extra...

I have a 100 adult minimum and I'm only at 35 - I'm kinda of starting to freak out because i thought for sure we would have a lot of people come. I gave myself an extra week in case of late or forgotten RSVPs - but I might have to change my whole package to meet the minimum and but then my menu wouldn't change yet its an extra 35$ pp so the food choices are better. (guests have to select their menu choice on the rsvp.) Do I keep the same package and pay for all those people that don't meet my minimum or upgrade my package and lose out on the food? UGH idk what to do at this point.

Initially I would've gotten the better selection of food. So if i upgrade late the only thing I'm really getting is more for the bar. Maybe I'll ask about adding signature cocktails along with the bar if i can't change the food choices. or perhaps a buffet option instead of sit down.

Ohhhhh. Now I understand. That is weird they would make you pay $35 pp more but only give you half of what you are paying for. Yeah, I'd just see what they can do for you! Maybe more desserts or appetizers? Adding a champagne toast? Champagne to greet guests at the ceremony?

If i understood correctly it should be floating wine and champagne through cocktail hour and reception. Champagne greeting for the ceremony is a nice idea! I have the rest of the week before I HAVE to make any final decisions. hopefully FH will have an opinion instead of "whatever you want is fine" lol

Are you doing digital or paper RSVPs? We only did digital (which worked for our small, tech-savvy crowd) and were able to send out a message to those who hadn’t RSVPd a day before the deadline reminding them of the deadline. We still have a handful of people that haven’t responded and are giving them a few days before we start reaching out individually.

I just went through something similar. People are not the best at responding and you’re going to have to hound them. I’d try that route first rather than changing your package right away. I asked my parents and my fiancé’s parents to help reach out to people. Hope this helps and congrats!

I wouldn't worry about your reception package right now. You shouldn't make the choice of changing or paying until you know for a fact whether the additional people are coming or not? That would make the most sense to me. I would start calling and getting answers. Once you start hearing from people that will give you an idea of which route you should go. I wouldn't make the decision yet without following up though.
