rsvp wording dilemma (thoughts please)

RSVP draft

*EDIT: Thank you for your responses! I have decided to just do the online RSVP instructions. also THANK YOU FOR POINTING OUT THE EXTRA "by" ON THE TOP! I definitely didn't notice that and I appreciate all of you for being awesome!

Hello WW community!

I have gotten to a point where I am overthinking a minor detail. I need some outside opinions please.

Right now, I am looking for something to replace the line that says "I promise to dance if you play" and has a spot for guests to request a song that will get them dancing. I think it's cute but it's not my favorite.

I have 2 options that I have been considering but am open to suggestions.

1. As FH and I are both bartenders (it's how we met!), I was thinking of changing the line to "I promise to drink if you serve/pour" with a line for guests to put their favorite booze or drink. The reception has a full bar so I'm not worried about them not having whatever a guest may write.

2. I am now considering just removing the line all together and adding a reminder that guests can also RSVP online to our website. "You may also RSVP to our website www.website.com"

Thoughts? Opinions?

**Note: For context, this is the back of the RSVP. They are postcard style

I think I’d just get rid of it and add that they can RSVP online! I’ve never seen an option to add a type of drink. It seems kind of redundant as long as you’re having a full bar. Also, you’ll want to fix where it says “kindly reply by”, there’s an extra “by” in there!

I don't see the point of adding a drink request if you have an open bar. The only case where I would see it as being useful, is if you plan on having waitstaff serve each guest their favorite/requested drink as they arrive to the ceremony (I believe I read that in a Martha Stewart article)

We did the song request thing and only about 30% filled it out, hindsight I would have skipped it all together, it was a waste of space in most cases.

I would remove the line all together and put the information on how to RSVP online if they so wish

And remove the second "by" for the date.

I'd probably remove it all together and reference your wedding website. On a different but related question, several people commented that they didn't include it because you end up getting songs you don't like, songs from so many different types of music, you could get 50+ song requests and you can't accommodate them all, people then wonder what happened to their request, etc. It was enough to convince me to remove that question from mine.

    GOOD EYE!

I would have completely missed that!

And I agree. The more I think about it, the more I like the online RSVP option.

    Thanks!!

I'm certain you can add a song request list on your website. It may be easier for your guests, as well, if they can rsvp separately. They may not write in anything on the reply card, but think of a song (or two) after they respond.

I agree which is why I don't want to include it. We are having live music and I would hate for people to request something and never hear it.

Thank you for your reply Smiley smile

I'm so happy I posted here because I totally missed the second "by". Thank you for pointing it out!

I agree about the song thing. I either don't fill it out or put something generic which is why I didn't want to include it.

I thought the drink thing would make people laugh when they read it but now I think I'm just going to skip it and put online RSVP instructions.

    THANKS!

I would add the online RSVP option. Its actually the only option we are giving because we are sending electronic invitations.
