rsvp stress!

Bride2B, on May 17, 2018 at 8:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 32

Is anyone else going through the RSVP yo-yo stress??

2 weeks ago I was stressing out that we invited wayyy too many people, and now that I'm getting RSVPs back, I'm at like a 55% decline rate, with 29% reporting so far, so now I'm a little worried that we won't even hit the minimum!

Such a stressful process! Smiley smile

I'm not at the RSVP stage yet, but we have 130 people invited, and as per our contract the venue is guaranteed 80 guests. I honestly don't think we will have that many guests RSVPing yes. I just have that feeling in my gut. It's tough cause I know FH will be heartbroken if it happens (110 guests are his) 😞

We have over 100 people, but I have been told to expect about half that.

We invited slightly over 100 people. So far we have 78 yes. Waiting for about 10 people's RSVP. We guessed 80 when we just booked our venue.

Our minimum is 75 people which we paid for already. We invited 98 people. Secretly hoping to get some declines back. We started getting the RSVP back and so far they have all been yes. The deadline is June 8 so we shall see what we end up with.

We invited about 250 people and our venue minimum is 130. The venue is huge, so we are not concerned about any capacity issues, but there is a PP cost over that 130. We had a feeling we'd have a huge decline rate because of the potential expense. I just hope we'll get 130 yeses Smiley smile I'm getting sad that some people can't come who I was really hopping would.

If you don’t can you add upgrades? That’s what we did when we didn’t hit our minimum

Yeah we invited 165 people and way more declined than expected, but I'm still waiting on at least 40 people to send in their RSVPs...if they all accept then we will end up with 115 guests...120 if you add in vendors to feed and ourselves!

We contracted for a minimum of 115 thinking we’d have about 140. We invited 175 total. At this point, many of FH’s friends aren’t using their plus ones and most of the families are not bringing their children who we invited. So it’s looking like we’ll be at 125-130.. I was stressing at one point too that we wouldn’t hit our minimum!!

We invited 170 people and are hoping our final number is closer to 150. We're getting there, with 16 declines already (and 76 accepted), with a week to go before our RSVP deadline. Our guaranteed minimum is 100, and I think we'll have no problem meeting that. So far, we're only really disappointed in one couple who declined that we thought would accept.

Hope you are able to meet your minimum, or upgrade some extras if you don't.

I was stressing about that too! I ended up inviting a friend from work so I would meet my minimum! Luckily she’s super cool and doesn’t care that it wasn’t a formal invite

I'm having a small wedding and though I'm not at RSVP stage yet I pretty much know who will be there and who not to expect. It's mainly immediate family an close friends. Invited 40 an I know for sure at least 25 will be there. I only wanted 30 but FH really wanted a few close coworkers to be there an allow them to bring a plus one.

We invited 42 I think? With including peoples kids and our group of 6.
At rate of rsvps still due we will have no more than 30 if everyone else says yes. We even had a couple opt to NOT bring their kids even though they were all invited.
    Our deadline is June 14.
Our venue has no minimum and no drink minimum. Max capacity is 45. So even if we end up with 15-20 people we will have some elbow room and a lower tab.
When people hear about this awesome venue that’s literally on the water(like it floats) private room private bathrooms customizeable menu... they are shocked. It’s really a good deal($300).

I'm sorry you are feeling stressed because of your guests. I can only imagine how frustrating it can be waiting for the rsvp returns. As more people are able to solidify their schedules, I'm sure you will receive many more confirmations. I hope everything ends beautifully for your wedding!

We have a good amount of people who haven't even sent their response and it's over 2 weeks past the due date. We also have people who bought us gifts and came to a shower already but haven't said anything about coming or not coming to the wedding and it is my biggest pet peeve!
