What have been the best responses you have gotten? Funniest = mother's friend said she didn't send in her RSVP because she wanted me to save my expensive stamp... The RSVPs came with a pre-stamped envelope and the option to RSVP online... lol Sweetest= A sticky note attached to a ladies RSVP card...

Sweetest= A sticky note attached to a ladies RSVP card that said it was the prettiest invitation she has ever received Smiley heartSmiley heartSmiley heart ( side note this lady shouldn't have been invited because she is actually super hated by my whole family for some horrible things she did but I didn't know and of course no one told me till after she RSVPed yes so now I guess I am just going to set her with FH's family and let my DOC know to watch out for drama lol)

Angriest = My grandfather RSVPing no because it is Massey Ferguson Day so he has a tractor show to go to! Yeah my family is chalk full of rednecks lol P.S. this is the grandfather who helped me get addresses 2 years ago so it isn't like he didn't know what day it was on. (oh and also he is the one who gave me the address for the family enemy mentioned earlier lol)

Funniest - the best man didn't RSVP because he "didn't know how to find a mailbox"... (um, what?!)

sweetest - a message and little cartoon from FH's aunt saying how excited she was to attend and how much she loves us

angriest - my great aunt and uncle accidentally checked "attending" then completely scribbled out "attending" and circled, underlined x 3, and starred "not attending" (well OK then...) lol

Funniest = My grandmother knew we were getting married on a battleship and I was talking to her one day and she was like "tell me about the submarine you are getting married on" and I was like what?! I am like we will not be underwater! This lady also realized that our wedding is in the same town as my grandfather's sister who I met a handful of times and when my grandmother received the save the date, she called me and told me she invited my grandfather's sister and I was like "oh that is so sweet of you." I did not bring it up or send the lady an invitation. I do not even know where she lives! We also asked what song will keep everyone dancing and one person wrote a song and then wrote to turn the rsvp card over and then went on to list like ten more songs! Umm, nope!

Sweetest = I loved the notes that some people wrote!

Angriest = Same grandmother from above who was all excited for the wedding and knew where the location was since she invited people of her own proceeded to flip out on my dad after receiving the invitation, asking why the wedding is in North Carolina (we live in New York). She is not able to go, but did not seem to have a problem with the location for the past ten months!

I know! I have seen this with the rsvps to the wedding and even the people for my bridal shower. They are telling me "we are going" and I am like who is we (it is a family of five girls) and tell the person whose name is on the card, not me!

Agreed! We’re planning on sending two invitations to their house when the time comes. We even told him if he wanted another STD he could have one, we bought extra and he got grumpy st that even. FH’s dad came over during all of this and told his brother that if he didn’t shut up and leave that he will be uninvited completely. Then FFIL states that the uncle was actually just pissed that he doesn’t get a plus one even though he hasn’t been in a real relationship (short of booty calls) since 2000

Ones that made me nuts: In my family ethnic group, kids are not given first names of living fathers or grandfathers, middle, or named after deceased forbears, or named at random. So FI having taken the trouble to list out FI family names, and address the envelopes, it was not til he was away and I was doing Rsvp card returns, matching with our master list, that I discovered my husband's Italian family often names children after fathers, grandfathers, uncle. With some variation, anglicizing the younger names for those born or coming young to the family. And other guys, are Saints names, as are most of the women. So it was not til I was logging Rsvps, writing placecards and escort cards, that I found there were 5 couples named Carl and Marie, and 3 other Carl and someone else, and one Carl and Maria. But no Carl and anybody on our guest list. Giancarlo x2 , Carlos, Carl, Charles , and Carlos, and one GC. All with wives Marie and Maria and Marian. So I had too many same name people without last names on RSVPs, could not tell who had replied, or dinners on place ards, what would go where. And Anthony, Antoni, Tony, Antone. All with wife or girlfriend names I could not attach to any guest, like 1 of Tony's & Netty on reply card so was that Antoni and Lisette, or Anthony and Annette? Antone and Lynette Tony and Antoinette. In despair I spent Hours on the phone long distance, $88 toll call to my FMIL. It would have been easier if my husband T did not have 7 brothers and 8 paternal uncles, all same last name. Who named kids after themselves and brothers. Joseph, Joey, Giuseppe, all go by Joe. I still do not have them straight. Our kids do fine.

We haven't sent out invitations yet, but we have sent out STDs. Our wedding date is 12-7-2019 (Pearl Harbor Day). A friend of mine texted me and said, "feeling cute, may storm a naval base that day". Smiley ups
