RSVP Response Hack

Morganne, on February 28, 2017 at 2:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 49

I want to thank all the WW members who mentioned numbering rsvp response cards to help identify when people don't write names on them...I've started getting rsvps back and about 60% so far haven't had any names, just a response, so writing the numbers before mailing has been a life saver!

I highly recommend numbering or a similar technique

Do you just number them according to the number on the guest list?

YAY! I did this as well but all of mine had come back with names filled out. I knew if I didn't do it though no one would have written names!

ETA: @Alexis I number all of mine first then FH and I worked together to keep an excel spreadsheet that detailed which number corresponded with each invite. This way we didnt have to worry about the invites being in a specific order before we started stuffing them. I just told him a name and a number and he put them on the list

We did our Response cards and inside envelopes, just in case.

Question though, why did your invites go out so early?

I get married 2 days before you and mine will go out this week and I'm early.

Wow, did you add the line with -

Name(s) ________________ and people still left it blank? Crazy!

THIS IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA! Where did you write it? Was it visible to people sending back? Did you have an excel document with the corresponding numbers?

@FutureMrsBobby - I just bought an invisible ink pen on Amazon, and will be writing the number on the back of the RSVP card. No one can see it unless they use a black light pen. Also, yes to your last question.

So glad this worked for you!!

I numbered the back of my RSVP cards in invisible ink (and assigned each couple a corresponding number on the guest list), and even though we only had 1 couple not write their name in it still made me feel so much less stressed knowing I had a backup plan Smiley smile

@futuremrsbobby I wrote it in the bottom left corner. Guests could see it but I really didn't mind!

@houligantobe it's a DW for everyone but FH and I so we wanted to make sure people had enough time to plan accordingly

We numbered ours with a black light pen we got. So you can't see the numbers unless you shine the light that comes with the pen on it.

I got 4 pens for $5 on amazon. The ink is complete invisible without the light. I put the number on the back of RSVP card in corner. It corresponded with RSVP list and meal choice list.

I gave them to my 9 year old niece after and she loves writing secret messages.
