I told everyone to RSVP by Sept 1st on my invite but I've only gotten like half of them back. Is this normal? Anyone else running into this or worried about people not responding in time? For those of you who are closer to your wedding/ already married, did you have to reach out to a lot of your guests to see if they were coming? Or do you just assume they are not if they don't respond?

It's normal to not have all your RSVPs back when you still have a few weeks to go before they're due back.

After your deadline, if you have a handful of guests who did not RSVP, then you contact them to find out whether they are coming. Give it a few days after your deadline because sometimes people mail theirs back on the deadline, which means you don't get it in the mail for a few more days.

OP - I would be annoyed if you asked me to send my rsvp back when I have two more weeks to reply. its called deadline for a reason. give people a chance.

I'm Sept 2nd and I have less than half back. Hell, most of my wedding party and none of our parents have officially responded. But yeah, pretty far from the 2nd so I'm not worried.

My deadline is 9/1 as well and I'm still waiting on 77 responses. I wouldn't worry yet. Call them after the first! Smiley smile

Hiiii wedding twin. I did sep 1st as well and only got half back. I do have to say that I was mad because I kept getting one a day or none at all but yesterday I got six back. People are horrible and enjoy torturing us. Lol. I will say let's relax and good luck to us.

Half have RSVP'd for us... they've pretty much trickled down to none coming back. Just wait until a few days after the date to contact people.

Did you let your guests RSVP online? We have been told that people RSVP faster if you have an online RSVP invitation.

You still have 2 weeks. You also should give a week or 2 grace period. It's way too soon to worry now.

My RSVP date is Sept 1 as well, I've had 71 respond and 165 left to RSVP. I'm getting anxious too, but they still have like 2 weeks haha

Our due date is 8/26 and we have gotten just about half back. Hoping to get more this week but I have a feeling we will have to reach out to a lot of people!

I'm waiting on over 50% of my rsvps, and my deadline is in 2 days. People suck at deadlines, im anticipating calling all of these people.

They have some time still. But yes I would contact those that you haven't received. They probably forgot.

Our RSVP date was last week and we only had half the RSVP's back. And one person instead of dropping it in the mail wrote on the RSVP card and texted a picture of it to the FH. Another 3 people told me verbally after the deadline. I'm irritated enough now that I've marked everyone else "Declined" until I hear from them, because unless I get their info and put them on the list at the front gate they can't get in.

Yes, I'm salty about it...does it show?

A lot of people will forget. Follow up closer to September 1st. You'd be surprised how many RSVPs you'll get back in the next 2 weeks

A lot of mine just told me or told my mom they were coming or not, didn't actually rsvp on the website. I actually had quite a few people rsvp on the very last day. It was weird. I didn't invite a whole ton of people. I only had to reach out to a few families

My RSVP date is 8/28 and have about half of the RSVPs back. Whenever I see people in person and they ask how the wedding planning is going I just say "Great all we are waiting on is the RSVPs but you know how that is. We just need to know how much of each meal for our caterer and how many centerpieces to make. Then we will be all set!" It is a natural way to remind them to RSVP. They usually say "Oh dang! I haven't done that yet. I'm coming though and will do that right when I get home" Which sometimes they do and sometimes they don't but at least I tried reminding them. Smiley smile
